Clean hit. Neil didn't go for the puck since Hedman was there first and was more focused on taking the man. That does look like it really hurt though.

It was clean, he took a swipe at the puck, missed, and got smoked. Intention to play it should count, just like Havlat and Kronwall last playoffs. Havlat intentionally pulled his stick to play it a second later and paid the price. Next time Hedman, get the puck and KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!

the hit itself isn't dirty, but the fact that Hedmen didn't have the puck, and that Neal didn't even go for the puck. Ohlund did the same play either in the game and got a call for interference.

Wasn't dirty at all. I think people have just forgotten what a good hit looks like... that and when it's Chris Neil, they just assume dirty. Or they assume it's dirty because Hedman got hurt.
