You should keep out the copper cents also. They have around 2 cents worth of copper in them.

Thanks. Do ask the teller for a box of pennys. How do go about gettin some. I just got like three rolls of nickles. ( remember just starting out ) and only found 1941, and 1949. But cool.

I can't believe you have a bank that charges. Switch banks. Silver in halves are getting a bit more scarce. There were times that I would find approx 20 silvers in a box. Just keep looking. Be nice to the people in your bank and they might put some coins aside for you.
