  • just looked at ep list...they did...and they are funny ones i remember...such a shame they stopped, i feel alittle resentful at patricia for being selfish because she didnt want to be remembered for being hyacinth...when that will be mainly what she will be remembered for anyway silly really i feel like ive been robbed of more episodes...i could understand if the series wasnt as funny but it was they are as good as the first ones

  • so did they do one more series after they had this interview?

  • 'Consistently Argumentative in the Country?' Poor guy hasn't said BOO up until now!

  • the writers on keeping up appearances were absolute genius

  • She's so posh.

  • Whatever happened to Judy Spiers?

  • @supernumery

Isn't she still doing the morning show on BBC's Radio Devon?

  • @supernumery Lord knows but thankfully my TV has been snort-free for as long as I can recall now. :D

  • @supernumery Judy Spiers works on BBC Radio Devon.

  • @supernumery

I think she became a weather forecaster on Mexican television. In fact, just this morning, I saw her give the Mexican forecast: CHILI TODAY and HOT TAMALE !!!

  • That series is so funny Boquet residence the lady of the house speaking. classic :)

  • @Cats1357911 And her long suffering husband and son-in-law. its one of the funniest programs on Australian TV

Mielonka z mielonką i jeszcze mielonką Super! W Polsce są również super kabarety! Pozdrawiam!

  • Fantastic As always poor Richard!

  • OMG did the lady snored at 1:18?! that was hilarious XD

    I laughed so hard!!

  • LMAO @1:18 host snorted so loudly from laughing I thought a pig had come into my house.

  • She is simply a real lady.

  • that first clip came from the episode "Please Mind Your Head" it happens to be one of my favs, and i highly recommend it!

  • love this show bring it back

  • Wonderful program!!!!!

  • Richmond, Brighton and Malvern.... They're all names of suburbs near me and I'm in Australia. It feels odd to hear Hyacinth mentioning them ^^

I absolutely love Hyacinth and Richard (I can't bring myself to call them by their real names), and that beginning scene had me in stitches xD

  • even here she's trying to keep up the appearances and sounds posh :) one of best series ever.

  • One of the most intelligent sitcoms ever made, in any country.

  • kocham ten serial! oni s cudowni!!!

  • Translation: I love this series! They are wonderful!

  • Does anybody know where to download/find this play they are talking about?

I think they said it was called Mr. & Mrs. Nobody.... :)

  • Mr and Mrs Nobody was theatre play. Clive & Patricia casted for those two characters.

  • Wow, Clive looks disheveled in this video. Hyacinth would never let Richard go out with his tie undone, colors mis-matched, and socks showing and falling down his leg ! Hyacinth should have dressed Clive.

  • Best BBC comedy ever !!! "Minding the pedestrians, dear...." So glad PBS continues to show this.

  • oh man, my friend just discovered this show but I watched it as a kid. Now whenever I'm driving she's constantly telling me things I need to 'mind.'

This show is so popular in the U.S, Big ups to Pat & Clive!

I wonder if our great programs like The Cosby Show are as popular in the U.K.?

  • The Cosby Show was shown in UK. Extremely popular!

  • Hate the boody new show love!

  • It's "Bucket". Hyacinth despises that name, so she pronounces it like "Bouquet".

  • I love when they're in the car. 'Watch out for the cow, dear." Richard "The cow is in the field!" Hyacinth "They've been known to jump fences."

  • I love how Judi snorted at the end of that clip. xD

  • lol, i heard that too!

  • Judi Spiers

    still seriously sexy

  • Patricia is so sweet and polite. She reminds me of my aunties.

  • Patricia was the other helpful teacher in To Sir With Love

  • @ShadowGuardian3337 Thank you so much!

  • @omitchell04 British shows are amazing, you're right. I would like to recommend you sample a series called "Black Books". More top British comedy.

  • They come across very real and delightful people which makes me enjoy the show even more than I did in the past. I like many things Britain and can't wait to pay a visit sometime soon. God bless.

  • God i miss this show.

  • How good is the picture quality of this video. Thanks

  • did that host snort???

  • Patrica seems such a nice, down to earth lady...love Keeping Up Appearances...best series is the final one! (Series 5). Shame in the uk you don't get many extra features on the DVDs like interviews and stuff!

  • patricia is one of my favorite actresses - her delivery is spot on. i found paper dolls of the buckets on the internet and am looking forward to coloring in her infamous blue flowered house dress - complete with yellow sponge to wipe down the slimline!

  • I LOVE Keeping Up Appearances. Like most Americans I was introduced to this show through PBS(Public Broadcasting) about 10 years ago. I really, really respect the British. They have a great sense of humor.

  • its at 1:18

  • We respect you guys too! America is awesome!

  • I love the "snort" at 1:20

  • PMSL

  • Patricia is gay - it's well known

  • How do you know this??

  • gay friends who know Patricia

  • i did not know that

  • I dislike interviewers that interrupt those they are interviewing. It drives me mad! But other than that, I LOVE seeing them together (Clive and Patricia). :)

  • Judy Spiers snorted after that skit with Hyacinth and Richard.

  • Judi Spiers has the most amazing legs..very very sexy woman

  • patricia routledge has the most amazing legs

  • O.K. she has my curiousity up-when should I wear two strands of pearls as opposed to one? Does anyone have the book and know the answer?? I LOVE KUA its true comedy, living in the States-I am so sick of overstretched, botoxed faces and silicone enhanced bodies expecting us to identify and feel for them.

  • what about saline? Silicone is going out since it leaks, I know this cause I am about to get new boobs and want to know why you are sick of silicone? tee hee

  • Are Richard and Hyacinth really married in real life off stage? Just asking. We've had the series over in South Africa too. I have season's 1-4 0n DVD.

  • No, neither one are married at the moment. Clive (Richard) was married in the 60s, but he's divorced now. Patricia has never been married. :)

  • "I am sure the Queen does it the same way...." LOL

  • omg the woman snorted!!!! lmao classic

  • I have watched KUA for years and never get tired of it

  • She is so hilarious. by the way everyone, its not bucket, its bouquet.

  • Comment removed

  • If you could read, you MIGHT notice I said that. Way to state the obvious...

  • Perhaps this was just not one of her best days but I didn't like her interview technique and she kept talking over them or cutting them short which was irritating. I'll take your word for it that she's not really that bad :)

  • Hi Tim!

Well, to be honest, apart from this one, I have never seen any other interview done by her, nor have i heard her on the radio. I was just surprised by the fact that you thought she was terrible. I didn't really notice it. I was probably floating on a little cloud because of Patricia. :)

  • they were great but the interviewer was terrible, who is that woman for goodness sake?

  • Do you mean that? Is Judi Spiers really that bad? Or is it because Patricia and Clive are that good? ;)

Judi Spiers does a radio show in the morning on weekdays now. BBC Radio Devon.

  • is Patricia and Clive husband and wife in reality

  • No, they might seem to be, but they actually are not. They just happened to have played husband and wife in two different projects.

  • Ms. Routledge seems like such a kind, warm soul. Notice the smile that never leaves her face, the adorable chuckle, and the caring look in her eyes. If only they all could be like her...

  • They are so good in "Keeping up appearances", I cannot stop watching the DVD in Hong Kong!

  • they are both very funny

  • love this programme

  • Lovely! Thank you!

  • lovely people!!!!

  • i always have loved "keeping up appearances" thanks for posting this interview

  • Are they married in real life?

    I've always wandered this.

  • Then let me help you out:

They are not married in real life, but happened to play husband and wife in different productions.

  • thanky for this...it made my sick night in bawstin much better...they (Clive and Patricia) have kept me annoying roomates w raucous laughter for decades....i wuv em

  • How on earth was "Dear, darling Sheridan" conceived? Fabulous Patricia Routledge. I love her. I'd love to see her in something with Mollie Sugden. That would be wonderful.

  • "Would you please remove yourself from my person" LOL.

  • LOL!

  • WHAT A TREAT! thank you very much!

  • are they still alive?

  • yes

  • So they are married in real life too?

  • Hi! Well, they just happen to play a married couple in the discussed play, as well. In real life they are not married.

  • so true! I Love this serie:) OMG is she 80 this year:O omg!!!

  • As perfect as Patricia Routledge is at playing Hyacinth, she has, in fact, never been married.

  • i dont think so but idk

  • yes, 80 this year.

wonder what she'll do to celebrate it. theatrewise I mean.

    julia- big fan

  • She's 80 in 2 weeks time

  • the hostess snorted at the video

  • this is so funny!

  • excuse me.. but.. what's the name of this starts video?.. i mean which season and episode is it? ... ;P

  • This was from Season 4, Episode 6: "Please Mind Your Head".

Original air date was: 10th of October 1993.

  • When was this interview?

  • Hi bubblebear83! ☺

Just like I wrote 1 year ago, 6 months ago and 2 months ago: Patricia says: We are going to do a Christmas special for 1994 and there is a Christmas special coming out for this year, which we shot glamourously on the QE II and had a wonderful time. So that's this year and then we're doing a Chrismas special for next year...

My mathematical skills tell me that means it was recorded somewhere in 1993.

    Regards, Terry

  • They look pretty old now and in that interview, they look younger. I am thinking it was around that time. In my opinion, hmmm. . . . They do not look that young now, they look a bit older. It has been 14 years since the series ended.

  • The hostess of the show is kind of "do"-able. She's looks good to go.

  • I couldn't believe it when I found out she was one of the teachers in one of my favorite movies TO SIR, WITH LOVE!!! LOVE PATRICIA ROUTLEDGE and CLIVE SWIFT seems like a really lovely man!

  • One of the funniest shows ever!

  • I would love to meet her or see her perform in person, too bad it's not going to happen since I live in America

  • wow, it's so... weird feeling to see Hyacinth in her normal self haha

  • I love Patricia!!!

    Thanks :0)

  • Judi Spiers interviewing :-)

  • When was this taken?

  • She says: We are going to do a Christmas special for 1994 and there is a Christmas special coming out for this year, which we shot glamourously on the QE II and had a wonderful time. So that's this year and then we're doing a Chrismas special for next year...

That means it was recorded somewhere in 1993.

"Well, I don't have an exact compass bearing at hand, but it is somewhere on the river near Oxford." :D
