  • Beautiful Music, Worship, Vestments, and Building!

  • Beautiful Lutheran/Anglican Hymn & Worship! :)

  • By the way, this is a lovely hymn and instrument. I enjoy classical-style liturgical music and hymns of all kinds, even though my own faith tradition is Reform Judaism.

  • Beautiful Anglo-Catholic Church! I especially appreciate the use of the Subdeacon. Godspeed and God Bless!

  • I wish the organist and choir was this good at my church. We have a wonderful, big pipe organ and a great French-gothic style church and the organist never uses more than the basic flutes and diapasons (and ALWAYS with the trems on). The only time I have heard reeds or mixtures was when I was playing the organ myself. :/

  • In the early fifties, my uncle was rector of the Church of the Incarnation in Dallas. It's a pleasure to see this video of some place he had probably been. My Mom was an Episcopal Church organist from the time she was 13 till she retired at 81 and I love these wonderful hymns! Thanks so much!

  • I remember they sang this song EWTN after a 5 minute prayer. They only sang the first two verses. I fell in love with this song. No christian metal, hip-hop, rock, country, or anything can compare to this song.

  • Wonderful just wonderful, the organist plays with force and clarity, thank you who ever you are?

  • Wonderful music.Christ will reach someone heart today through this music.I agree with sparky, nevertheless, let us pray for her and the Church.

  • I love it. Very dignified and beautiful as I would expect from Episcopal worship.

    Thank you!

  • This is hymns are to be played, this organist played this just right, and the registrations were perfect for each verse. I play a Moller/Allen organ at one of the churches I work at and that organ sounds just like this one, has a nice rich tone. Our was installed last year and has four manuals and out of the 158 voices only 58 are digital, it's already a large instrument. Thanks for posting!

  • There's simply nothing better than traditional Anglican worship...reverent, expressing restrained joy, and praise...why ppl want to introduce praise bands and do away with this beauty and tradition I have NO clue. If i lived in this area, this is where i'd like to go to church! :O)

  • very nice- greetings from germany!

  • Great hymn, and a nice sounding organ too!

  • Thanks for posting this video. Very beautiful and dignified

  • Rare polished congregational singing and organist accompaniment. I've played it repeatedly for a couple of days now.

  • I like everything about this video.

The hymn, the organist, and the vocal harmonizing is great!

  • the organ, the sining, just amazing. i am also an organist , and i have never heard this hymn before in my life, thanks for posting

  • I like everything about this video. The organ & music especially.

    Happy Easter!

  • you have some pretty rocking strong Alto singers.

  • The prayer book is---ah, just kidding. I'm an organist and find this recording appealing. Nice music.

  • Although I am Presbyterian (PCA), I appreciate beautiful worship, even though it is different from mine. The organist is superb and is truly blessed by the Lord. I also hope the ECUSA will stop renouncing her Lord and Savior and get back to traditional Anglican theology.

  • Thanks for your comment and compliment. I agree completely with you re: TEC. It's a shame that TEC has abandoned the Bible as the Word of God! Thankfully, St. Matthias' is still an orthodox church.

    Regards,

    - s/o

  • We at The Church of the Atonement, Carnegie,. PA, Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh, ACNA, are pleased to continue to be an orthodox church, under the direction of ACNA Archbishop, and Bishop of the Diocese of Pittsburgh Bob Duncan.

  • @superoctave I love this style of worship. So slow, graceful and dignified.

  • This is what the Episcopal Church (ECUSA) should get back to. They need to fire the presiding Bishop Katherine Jeffords Schori and bring back some unity in the church.

  • very beautiful!

  • I got a degree in religion because of St. Matthias Church. I visited there once five years ago, and it is a memory I never want to forget. Thank you so much for posting this video!

  • That's absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing!

  • This is the EPITOME of Orthodox Anglican/Lutheran Christian Worship --

    the Protestant Catholic Mass.

    Deo Gratias! Soli Deo Gloria!

  • Perfect playing...this is awesome

  • My great respect for this organist! Absolutely perfect play.

  • WOW!!! Absolutely beautiful!!!

  • Solemn, endearing, evocative. A truly wholesome hymn, indeed. Feeds the soul, enlightens the spirit. This takes me back to the time when I was young - when my parents used to take me to the Easter Sunday mass. And I feel like I'm with them right now (still young and innocent).

Enjoy this tune, Happy Easter to All!

    Peace and Cheers,

  • yes, notice the young boy in the front row w/ his mom, i remember being that age and my mom teaching me the respect holy things. brings me memories very wholesome and true.

  • So endearing, very evocative. A very serene hymn, indeed. Good food for the soul and spirit. This takes me back to the time when I was little - when my parents used to take me to the Easter Sunday mass.

Peace to all, have a blissful Easter.

    Cheers, love and light,

  • We usually sing this as the recessional, with Jesus Christ is Risen Today the Processional.

  • The melody comes from a very famous Bach hymn "Allen menschen mussen sterben", re-harmonized by Pachelbel. We have this song in the French Hymnal of the Catholic Church, entitled "Par les routes de la terre".

  • THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! Is this parish part of the new CANA? Or maybe AAC?

  • AWESOME hymn. Had never heard it before this past weekend. In the Catholic church it's entitled "Songs of Thankfulness and Praise."

  • Don't be too sure about that. Gather #463 is "At the Lamb's High Feast We Sing" to _Salzburg_. Gather #383 is "Songs of Thankfulness and Praise" to _Salzburg_. You just need the "right" hymnal.

  • we sing this for easter too.. its a nice piece

  • As I look at my hymnals (Evangelical Lutheran Worship and Lutheran Book of Worship), our verison is shorter than the verison sang here. It is a great hymn, I'd like to try to play this on piano or my organ tune of my keyboard.

  • What is the name of this hymn?

  • What is the name of this hymn ?

  • Its the hymn text "At the Lamb's High Feast We Sing" to the tune "Salzburg"

  • Now Anglican? The Protestant Episcopal Church IS Anglican.

  • nice :) great to see this posted!

  • I'd love to see a whole service. Not many churches use incense anymore, a beautiful tradition.

  • o wow, i LOVE this hymn...i've never heard it in church before, our Methodist hymnal doesn't have it. Is this a Lutheran or Catholic church maybe? The organ has a lovely sound.

  • It is a wonderful hymn indeed. The church was formerly Episcopalian but is now associated with the Anglican church. Thanks for your comment!
