As time progresses, techniques improve. To add to this video, there should be an initial pull on the trailing end of the kite during the slide before the axel. This should be a neutral pull going down to your waist. After beginning the axel, give plenty of slack, and follow through. By "follow through," I mean move your hands with the kite as it rotates. This will help save the kite from what would other ways be a failed axel.
Pretty nice! I learned from a tip stand. Let it fall forward a bit, pull the upper wing and hit the lower. Pretty much the same in practice i guess, but you can also do a full spin back to tip stand ;)
