As a comedian, I went to this movie with a notebook and pen to write down jokes about it. Inside of 2 minutes, I'd put the notebook away because I realized that Stallone had finally matched the brilliance of Rocky-before the Roman Numerals and all the rest of his laughably bad films and characters.

Quality acting and writing of this scene's level is one of several reasons why "Rocky Balboa" never made it into my act.
