  • Of course the baby isn't walking professor! Still it's great training for the little bub.

  • That doesnt look like a 2month baby he looks 4 - 5 months

  • Cute.

I do agree about the reflex/placing action. Several years ago, on TV, I saw a study on newborns and how they are born with knowing how to "walk". The doctor demonstrated the same action as this baby is taking, but with a baby (his son, I think) that was only about a week old. He supported the baby in the same manner, but made sure the baby's head rested to the side and against his own raised shoulder which was supported by the doctor's hand.

  • me dr said its fine if they want to bare their weight. my lo loves standing but never does the steps

  • Its a reflex

  • um your not supposed to let them bear weight on their legs that young.

  • @free2be70105 Doesn't look like he is bearing much weight on his legs to me. Because of the natural reflex, his legs walk when just touching a surface. He only lifting his feet, not his body.

  • That is not walking. It is a reflex in babies called 'placing' - when you hold a baby up (ages from newborn to around 4-6 months of age) with the soles of their feet touching a firm surface (e.g. the floor) they do a movement of bringing one foot up, placing it on the surface and then lifting the other foot. With the parent moving forwards, whilst holding the baby, this movement can look like walking.

It is common for parents to get excited about this and think their baby can walk!

  • @gpardo01 agreed :P

  • @gpardo01

agree...my baby do this in 40 days... :D his grand mother massage him..when she stand him..he can walk his feet nd Lap up :)

its not walking at all :D

he's took his first step at 11 months :)

  • W O W

    -speechless- =p

  • wow. amazing.

  • omgoodness so cute!!!!

  • I really don't think you should do that with a two-month old, you could easily hurt his back or something.

  • @StrawbarieGashes that's what i thought at first but the pedia said if they can, let them do it as long as they are comfortable. and they are not as fragile as what we think. because their bones are still soft.

  • @StrawbarieGashes They are stronger than they look. It's one of the reflexes tested at birth.

  • thats just a reflex all babies have that

  • Good example of the stepping reflex, which all healthy babies have at that age. He's a cutie, too.

  • he looks 4 months old haha..cute

  • its soo cute but when a baby is tht young and like sort ov walkin he or she can get bow legged

  • @dimond1359 all the newborn and up to certain age or months are bow legged as well as their arms.

  • @faerypuppy Owww Lol Didn't realise : /

  • Hahahaha! 2 month old walking ya right u will never see 2mth olds walking im sure, or u will have to start givin them solids.

  • @hathor261 my son is like that too. same age 2 months old.

  • cute!! my 4 month old does the same thing.

  • It's not impressive; it's just a reflex for him to pick up his foot. All babies do this. Not knocking the video, which I'm sure was only meant to be interesting to family, just the idiots that think there is something special about this. I have, however, seen eight month olds who can walk independently, and that is pretty remarkable.

  • Ignore the haters, we think its pretty impressive

  • That is so cute!!!

  • hahahahaha

  • Very cute video.

Babies are born with the ability to walk, but through evolution their bones are no longer strong enough to support them, and then cause they arent using the skill, it fades very fast. Watch a new born, they will move their legs as if trying to walk.

I have seen it twice with my kids.

  • Look!!!! My kid can read at 1 month!!!!

(okay....All I am doing is moving his head from side to side and holding a book in front of his face)

  • yeah he can move his legs so.......

  • he isn't walking you're dragging him on the ground and he happens to be moving his legs

  • aww he is so cute

  • i can drag my kid like that too.....

  • Yeah, I had that suck reflex real bad as a child...

  • That's very cool. Thanks for posting. This answered a question I had.
