@ oceanbelow: You shul know watt 2 say, I been searching for this soundtrack for months. I love this movie. Kris Knight (Val Kilmer) is the reason I majored in chemistry and physics. And, they said convicts were stupid. Rotflmmfbao. I did it, and pursuing my masters in physical chemistry. I wish all hoodlums would follow suit. Maybe the world wouldn't be so fucked up.
I like 4 main GENRES or types of music ... (*UNDERGROUND HIP HOP - CLASSIC ROCK - OLD MOTOWN SOUL - 80S NEW WAVE*) its to bad 3 of the 4 are DEAD or dont put out any NEW MUSIC anymore ... only UNDERGROUND HIP HOP does
I was born on 1996 although i did not even get a chance to enjoy the 90s my mom and dad were all about the 50s through 90s i am luck to have parents who did not want me listening to junk my brothers and sisters don't like old music kind of makes me mad but i am smarter }:)
This is one of those movies I'll watch whenever I can't sleep and just want that "comfort food" type of movie. It's fantastic and I think it's one of the reasons I watch Science Channel as much as I do today...all those lasers.
Lazlo was Uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite, right?! LMAO, this was a great flick. Whatever happened to Mitch? And who didn't have a crush on Val Kilmer after this one??
i think val kilmer and SARAH JESSICA PARKER worked excellent together in this movie. i cant believe she let them cut her hair that way. she looks like a dude.
@dimviesel I hope you are joking....from the way you caps locked SARAH JESSICA PARKER.... because she was not in this movie. Nor was she really with Val... she was with the other guy.
I wish the instrumental segment when the gang is putting together their plans against Jerry (it kicks in when Jerry leaves his house and Jordan is watching and then hops on the moped--I think it's Jordan; could be Ick) was available on DVD. The best I have is what I recorded off the DVD, with moped sounds in the background.
Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of Sun God robes, on a pyramid, with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?
*stands on hands* would you be prepared if gravity reversed itself?? *stands up right* the only thing i cant figure out is how to keep my pocket change--I GOT IT!! nudity!!
Such a great movie. This is the best song/montage in the movie. I love being able to say that. So awesome - more than one montage in one movie! May I take this moment to compliment your choice of footwear?
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Val Kilmer was completely flaming hot in Real Genius. I love his character played here. Excellent music with the Cosmat Angels just topped off the movie and made it perfect. Fallin is my ringtone.
I looked there and it is not to be found. Other Comsat Angels songs are there but unfortunately not this great song. I have resorted to going to second hand CD stores to try and find either the Comsat Angels CD with this song or the soundtrack for the movie. Still looking.
has anyone here noticed that at the military laser test site, the procession of cars that the laser was supposed to hit looks exactly like the JFK procession????
Val Kilmer is a great actor period, although he hasn't always gotten the big-name notoriety. Please don't disregard his role as Jim Morrison in The Doors.
Very true, he did do a great job playing Jim Morrison, but I think it didn't show his true talent. Remember the role of Jim Morrison was original going to be play by Billy Idol before he has his car crash, but they could not rewrite the script because they were already making it. I think if they had more time to fix it he might have gotten a oscar, but because not it became a role like his performace in Wonderland. Great but not the best he could do.
This is one of the four best comedies of all time - and they all came out in the Spring/Summer of 1985 - the year I graduated HS.
Fletch
Real Genius
Better Off Dead
Weird Science
I spent YEARS looking for this song. The band, Comsat Angels, were forced by an American company to pick another name - and so they appear as CS Angels in the credits - not that 90% of record (vinyl) stores at the time would have had anything by Comsat Angels. They and this movie are criminally underated.
By far "Real Genius" is on my top 3 list of all time favorite movies. The plot, soundtrack, and cast are so identifiable. No movie today can touch the films of the 80s, especially this one. Classic!
i totally agree. val kilmer had the best lines in the movie. and this song by comsat angels is awesome. you can only get it on limewire. there is no soundtrack for real genius.

@purplgoo the movies of the 70's are the best things ever to come out of H'wood.
Godfather(s), The Deer Hunter, Star Wars, Jaws, Dog Day Afternoon, The Conversation. Just go to an Oscar site and look at the nominees for 'Best Picture' from 1970 to 1980. It pretty much ended with Raging Bull. It should come back around full circle now that it's possible for virtually anyone to make a good movie, what with computer editing/post tech and steadily improving camcorders for cheaper.
doesn't matter, great feel good movie! My late brother and I would watch this together, great times. The Tears for Fears song at the end makes the movie. Well done Val
so many great anonymous songs from the 1980s out there...about the only good thing about this generation is that we have to technology to find this stuff on the internet..how ironic huh?
ths song is are like butt floss to girls I always need it. my heart gushes good stuff when is see this movie and its all because of the music watching this movie is like listening to a great album.
I tried downloading it and it ended up not being the movie so i bought the dvd instead. The song playng is called Falling by Comsat Angels, u have to get a peer to peer software and try your luck , like limewire etc.. Hope thats enough info for you , bye , Take care

so many great anonymous songs from the 1980s out there...about the only good thing about this generation is that we have to technology to find this stuff on the internet..how ironic huh?
