  • great vid, but don't use bigger words that you do't know what hey mean... if you boot it from a cd-rom or dvd-rom it won't partition the hard drive, it will install over it... and it won't format it. All the data will be stored in a folder, but the Operating System will be Ubuntu instead ofwhatever you were using before. Other than that... great vid...

    i did exactly all the above process BUT i see a message : ATTEMPTING BOOT FROM USB and nothing happens after this i have waited for more than 30 min but same message

  • i dont get it when i go to download this for 64 bit or 32 i get a download for amd not i368 :/ and well err im wanting to use ubuntu on my laptop running off intel or will it not couse me problems?

  • @fukmenw if you have more than 3GB of RAM get 64bit. If not, get 36bit

  • when i boot from usb, it goes through what it has always done for windows, and after saying Verifying DMI Pool Data...update successful or something along those lines, the screen goes black and doesn't change.

    is there anything I can do about that?

    windows isn't working either, its been messed up for a while.

  • @VAGELIS199 There some old computers can't boot from usb to forgot your computer.

  • @28Amar46 haha my computer is 2010version BIOS and is have windows 7 ultimate but i don't use a flash driver but micro SD card 4gb :D LOL thats why is say usb is not bootable...

  • ive tried to run it from an usb but i get this error (initramfs) mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: Input/output error

    Can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squa­shfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

  • @28Amar46 so after i have installed it, i can delete the stuff off of the USB and just start up my pc normally withought the USB plugged in ?
