Those who have been to Thailand, and have had an elephant tour(or whatever they are called) know that these so called "bullhocks" are pretty normal down there as well. In one tour, about 20 minutes, you would see the trainer hitting his elephant several times. This is nothing new. This is how elephants are trained, basically, throughout the world. How else would you make them learn tricks? Talk to them?

Also, the elephants skin is several times tougher than the human skin.

It is sad, but if you actually watch the video then you see that it was the company that did these things while the people working on the movie had no idea of it. Boycotting the movie won't do anything to the people responsible. They've already been paid.
