  • I have flat feet and can relate to this. my trainer has me do a lot of "no sturup" work and it always forces me to maxiize the use of my entire leg properly. If you are tensing up in the thigh or hip, this will also cause you to have the same problem. stretch out by 2-pointing then settle back into proper position.

  • @jarjimmy11 IMO No stirrup work has little to do with creating a stable base at the foot/stirrup interface. You evaluate off horse o find the problem, then build your base off horse first, then make changes on horse based on what you find off horse.

  • what about Flat feet?...in relation to strong calves? i have flat feet and as much as i train them they become week after a period of time, but i get the relation, i tend to lean forward when i'm out of balance on a horse, and i just can't keep my feet stable on the steer-ups, they come out when i loose balance, so in order to keep them i shorten the steer-ups leather so my heels would be forced to the right position, but i'm 6 feet 2 inches, and that makes my posting look funny, what to do?

  • @3ooody i understand, i have the same problem

  • @3ooody IMO the flat foot is not the main problem. What is happening above the foot? There are a several things to consider...being 6'2" is not per se one of them. Look first to an appropriate off horse strengthening program.
