I was sadden to hear about the passing of Dr Foster,i have the honor of meeting him many years ago when i was in highschool he was a great man then a man of respect and honor who seen noooo color all he seen wasa musicianship.Im certain he greatly miss at Famu
marched for SU, but what I always admired about Dr. Foster was his professionalism and great attributes as a conductor. It is sad that he's no longer with us, but I am not sad for him. He accomplished so much in his long career that NO ONE could match. From a bandsmen, we love you Doc and thank you for your service to countless musicians. You are truly the ORIGINATOR!

I thank you for creating the Marching 100 and giving many African Americans the opportunity and chance to follow their dreams and do what they love best...MUSIC! FAMU LOVES YOU! thank you Dr. Foster! Dr. Foster! Thank you for turning your dreams into reality and giving hundreds upon thousands of students hope, education and life long lessons never to be forgotten! Hubba Doc!
R.I.P Dr. William Patrick Foster. May the lord watch you as you ascend and may your spirit and fight live on forever in the "100" through quality, integrity, and overall greatness. HUBBA DOC!
Doc we love u and miss you. Let the legacy continue Florida A&M University!!! I am so proud of my Rattler family everywhere we go we show out!!! I Love FAMU!
Dr. Foster I am aware that you are not dead, no you have simply made yourself "invisible". Although because of racist amerikkka, you were not allowed to march in the predominately caucasoid racist University of Kansas, The Most High EL (God) is one of justice, with your creative musicianship mindset and passion, you built a HBCU Marching Band that is "World Renowned" and 2nd to no one! R.I.P. Sir, the ancestors are very proud of you.
Dr. William p Foster known as "The Law" has revolutionized American Bands and American Culture. His innovative concepts and strong determination, brought forth an New concept of halftime performances. Through music Dr. Foster has changed the lives of Millions as well as the social aspects of America overall. An innovator, true Giant, and blessing from God, Dr. Foster
Doc you are loved and will be missed greatly. You touched countless lives and this is a dismal day in the lives of many. Your rich legacy will live on. Thank you for instituting the standard by which others are measured while emphasizing character and dedication.
I may hate the Marching 100 because I am an Aristocrat, but I respect them, and give MUCH respect to Dr. Foster. The HBCU band world has lost a legend in one of the GREATEST band directors of all time! Hubba Doc! May the angels be entertained with the newest man of music in heaven.
HBCU's finest, the legendary 100! That had to be a GREAT man to put together an organization like that. His legacy will love on for years and years....RIP Dr. Foster...you have left your mark not only with HBCU bands but many college bands around the world!
Thank you Dr. Foster for all that you've done for us. May you have peace with all the other great geniuses of music history--Brahms, Stravinsky, Bruckner, Bernstein, Fennell, Sousa, Vaughn, Fitzgerald, Ellington, Armstrong, Revelli...Foster. I never met you, but you had a great influence on my life. You are truly my hero! THANK YOU!!
