Barack: 3yrs community organizer (youth minister), 7 years state legislator, and 3 years U.S. Senator.
Palin: 6 years in city council, 6 years as mayor, 3 years in state reform committees and 2 years as Govenor.
Note that is 17 years in politics as oppossed to Obama's 13 even if you count being an organizor. Fact: Palin is more experienced than Obama in everyway and she is only running for VP....Note that!
Palin seems way cool. This chick rocks. I would definitely be comfortable w/ her in the White House! Especially after her speech tonight, I'm now really excited about the Republican ticket!
Comfortable with someone you never heard of a week ago...to lead the country?! Sure, she's cool and regular and would be great to have a beer with...but weren't these the same things we all praised in W...and look were that got us.
Because the American working in our communities to actually improve our lives, like the community organizers who organized the American Revolution, make you less comfortable?
What Barack Obama did was equivalent to being a youth minister. He worked with churches to organize the young in the community. That can in no way compare to being a Mayor or a Govenor.
She chose to compare helping real people in neighborhoods with being a mayor, not him. His experience did not stop with his first volunteer work after college, but she chose to cherry pick that to compare it being a mayor. 8 years in the state senate after law school (when he could have chosen not to serve and cashed in for millions as a Wall Street lawyer screwing you and I), and then the US Senate is more experience that Lincoln or Kennedy or Teddy Roosevelt had in public office.
She was responding to Barack's critique of her being the Mayor of a SMALL town. He chose to open his mouth on that and got blasted. He is being careful on how much he focuses on her now because if SHE is too inexperienced to be VP then he is way too inexperienced to be President.
Notable that you chose not to respond to the full listing of his experience, to Lincoln and Kennedy, to patriotism, but to simply fall back on the GOP sound bite. Throw 'em all out, with you in tow.
When your only experience is a brief stint as mayor and governor, we may end up with another W or Bill Clinton. It is hard to imagine a patriotic American not placing GREAT value on community organizing, like the community organizers who organized our Revolutionary War or the pro-life movement...most that is good in politics starts in communities, so it is both a cherry pick and an unpatriotic slight to dismiss community organizing as she did.
Yes, let us note somethings.

You forgot the sound of the crying baby and the mother's voice pleading with the baby to sleep because she is so exhausted she can barely stand.
