yes. there is one: don't try it. :) but if you really want to go a little bit deeper, that what worked for us was descend very slowly and we didn't stay down long, only a minute.
i didn't even get narced until we hit the bottom. we hit 295 feet but i forgot to video tape my computer because i was so narced that's why it is just 293'.
there is nothing else u can really do on air , u gonna get narced for sure.
so if you want to go deep try mixed gases. much safer.
theres a difference between being recklace and having fun. they clearly knew somewhat what they were doing. ( altho the snorkel wont be of much use in a 300ft boat dive...lol) but anyways they had fun and were relaxed( what diving is about) i give them 1 1/2 thumbs up, for the have no hair
we hit the bottom @ 283' and had to swim more down follow the bottom to 295' and i was so narced that i forgot to video tape my computer. i only taped it @ 293' . the goal was 300'.
if we didn't have swim to the bottom we would have made it.
You're lucky to be alive. That dive can be made with real tech training, but your equipment and techniques show you are not. Had someone had a gas failure their probably would have been a fatality.
@zolib hello from Greece.Amazing the feeling of the Nitrogen drunkenness, i have reache the deepth of 62 meters but im afraid of the oxygen toxicity. Is there any method than you can find your personal limits against the oxygen with relative safety ?
Doesn't Zoli have a job to waste his time on? Why is he wasting our time with his false claims? Hey Zoli, meet me at Eagles Nest and we will see what you are truly made of.
CRACK SMOKERS..the dive comp did say over 280 at one point. If that is REALLY clean water, and the camera is very light sensitive it does look like that area 200-300ft. The water has a violet cast which is the LAST color to go, you only get that under 150FT. Otherwise these guys are crazy. They are probably narced out their minds unless they are on trimix.
A single tank and not trimix? I smell bullshit. Diving to that depth on air is just retarded. The light level does not look like 300' anyway. Remember, a good, experienced diver doesn't brag. He knows he's good and "been there" and that's good enough for him/her. I've talked to enough gung-ho, macho, I-dived-deeper-than-you divers to know they are morons. Dive for yourself. Not for war stories.
Why are people so mad? They seem to have large vol back tanks with side mounted 80s for bailout - decompression. This may not be your pick, but it isnt totally crazy either.
Was that fun? Why are you advertising such deep dives on AIR with SINGLE tank? The more stupid people like you will try that, the more fatalities will occure...
I am hurting for you guys right now. If you want to dive that deep, get some deep dive training and don't rely on a computer to do the work. Your going to end up dead soon, don't you think that everyones comments might be an indicator yoru doing something wrong?
Are you a moron? These guys have obviously had deep dive training../sigh Their gear was sufficient though slightly less than advisable. This was a stunt and no more incredible than ppl skiing down 100ft. drop offs is to your average skier. It's ok if you are scared to attempt what they did, doesn't mean that they are stupid for doing it. Go QQ somewhere else : )
In addition to the other comments made, has anyone else noticed that his sling bottle is Nitrox? What good did he think that was going to do him at 293 fsw? Instant Oxygen Toxicity at that depth, to say the least.
nice work, 90m on air with a single tank yoke AND your reel ATTACHED to you AND the prop still runnin on the boat! darwin must have been off that day.
How are you still alive man you really need to get some training before you kill somebody and your self and i hope there some good tech divers there to recover your body.
They look well-trained to me. First of all, their gear indicates a rather high level of training (extra tank, computer, everything in new-looking condition-although it didn't look like they were breathing any mixed gases). It appeared that they descended slowly, ascended ever more slowly, meticulously measured the rate of their ascent, communicated with each other thoroughly throughout all portions of the dive, etc. That they went 293 ft & were fine says something in and of itself!
Well trained? Come on, you can not be serious... The trim of the divers indicate no proper control of their buoyancy, just the fact that you swim vertically towards the surface after a dive to this depth.
Furthermore, a computer can everyone buy, but here it seems that the com did all the work, and there were no backup time/depth device.
A dive to this depth demands twin cylinders, with trimix gas, and so much training that the equipments condition will be nothing like "new-looking"... :)
You know what, you are right. I watched the dive again and they are only on one tank. Guess I should have paid more attention. I saw the deco tank and assumed they must have had more than just a single tank. And yes, they should be diving heliox or trimix. Gear being "nothing like new-looking" if they ARE experienced is kinda a stretch though.
To be honest the light conditions don't look consistent with a dive to almost 300'

1) looks like a fun dive!
2) who taught you how to sling a stage tank?
3) why would you shot a deco bouey when you are boltsnapped to the spool?
4) Im thinking egypt 30.0M aka 100ft...

Amateurs. Lousy trim, dangling gear, attached reel...and a bounce dive on air for no reason. Darwin was most certainly asleep at the wheel this day.

Nitrox tank isn't for braething at depth man. It is to speed up deco stops at 20 + 10 foot.
