I met Mr. Womach in 1969 in Los Angeles. What a wonderful man! This recording does not do justice. I was impressed beyond measure by his faith, courage and talent. It is my opinion, and it is just that, young singers today just scream and grunt into a microphone. Mr. Womach is a singer of the tradtional school. The voice is used the way a fine instrument is played. If you don't like this style of singing, OK. But when you hear him in person, you no longer see the scars.
This is an awesome song, video and message of hope that signifies that though this man went through hell on earth through this ordeal; in Christ there is HOPE that the best of this world cant begin to offer!! I know that hope personally so skeptics if you dont know this same hope the wisest thing u can say is nothing about something youve not yet experienced!!:) I hope u do though for your futures sake!!
I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW HAPPY I AM TO SEE THIS! The link didn't work last time I tried to see it all the way back in 2008; I thought I'd never see it! Long live Merrill, wherever he is!
If someone can get me He Restoreth My Soul in some - ANY - format, I will be forever indebted. I will stop at nothing to get it.
In answer to the question: "How does he know he'll be happy again?". The answer is that he knows Jesus as his savior, and one day he will be with Him for eternity. So in the meantime, he will be spreading the word through song.
A wonderful video that can only inspire all who hear it. I highly recommend reading Merrill Womach's 1976 autobiography, TESTED BY FIRE, which tells of the Thanksgiving 1961 fiery plane crash that scarred him and how he and his wife's faith in Jesus Christ brought him through the extremely painful recovery (skin grafts, etc.). His testimony and ministry were amazing and used mightily by God. Thank you for posting this inspiring and encouraging clip! pressing on in Him . . . Gary P.
I met Mr. Womach in 1969 at the California Funeral Directors Convention in LA. I was so impressed. I never forgot that WONDERFUL voice. How nice to hear him again!
i have to say, his voice is terrific but the patients don't look too convinced...and is it really a good idea to have patients with open wounds all pushed into a closed ward like that?
Thanks for posting this!!! I am almost finish his bio about his plain crash....he has to go though a lot of pain to get to were he is today!!! God Bless him!!!
I fell upon this in a "worst album covers ever" website, and i plan on spreading this to all friends and enemies alike, because in my heart i believe this is some of the funniest jizz ive ever seen!
Great song, sung by a man with an amazing voice and testimony- brings back many wonderful memories. My dad, a minister, had an album of Merrill's before his plane accident, with a cover pic of MW in several different suits of clothes, and dozens of replications, so he looked like a one-man choir. God bless you, dear brother- my dad has passed on, and one glorious day I will meet him and you, and countless others, in the land where all are forever happy. Jesus lives!

This would make a brilliant ending to "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". Even better than the original, lol.

His face looks all weird and stuff. Jesus must have gotten really pissed off at him to let that happen to him.
