Thank you for the help! I knew you were suppose to temper, but at the time I made the video, I was still a "beginner" overall in making ice cream. Great tips!
Hope you don't mind me saying but you should temper the eggs, this will cut a lot of worry out of the eggs scrambling, it's also the correct way to make the custard. Mix your eggs and sugar in a glass bowl, heat your milk until it is just starting to simmer, then pour a 1/4 of the milk into the egg bowl, mix then add the rest and pour back into a bowl, lower the heat to the lowest setting and stir with a spoon, do not whisk it will break the mixture and cause it to scramble. This is a sure way
do u have a whole much of mixers cuz it looks like u have a blue one a green one and a black?? or is it all the same mixer but u some how change the color plz reply back!!
@vivi14101 That made me laugh......I have two Kitchen Aid mixers. I have a Green Apple and an Aqua from The Martha Stewart Collection. Wanted a robins egg blue as first choice but settled on green apple when I got one. The following week they came out with the Martha Stewart aqua which was my dream color. I waited a year and then learned the aqua was a limited edition and it is my kitchen colors so I bought it...it is no longer available but normally I wouldn't have bought two mixers! ~MSC
@vivi14101 Oh.....forgot to mention that Black Kitchen Aid is my mom's. When I go to visit my family in the Midwest I do a lot of baking for them when I am there so the black one is hers!
@vivi14101 I am sucker for anything in that blue color, I love it too! I have other matching Kitchen Aid items in that color like the measuring cups and spoons and the blender.
Those are excellent tips, thank you. So far I haven't had a problem with the eggs cooking. I know you are suppose to have the dasher spinning before you pour but I don't because it is difficult to pour the mixture into it. I will try using a slim container as your suggested. I really appreciate your tips. Thank you!
Just a few helpful hints: When using egg yolks, you will need to temper in order to not cook the eggs. Secondly, when using the KitchenAid, pour your liquid into a more narrow container - this will help in pouring the liquid into the freezing bowl. Yes, you should always start the dasher prior to pouring your liquid. The freezing bowl needs to pulled from the freezer as-soon-as your ready to freeze. Lastly, always have a frozen container ready to store the completed ice cream in.

How did it turn out, did it require additional cocoa? The video was helpful and thorough by the way. Except for how it tasted =)
