You can tell your friends that older cartoons were produced with about 50,000 times the craft that most cartoons on TV today are. Don't get me wrong---a lot of modern TV cartoons are funny as hell, but the craftsmanship? The polish? The artistry? Forget about it.

@jshadowhunter I bleieve that the animation style you are reffering too is due to a leap in traditional to digital aniamtion tools. You see, most animation tools use vectors graphics and motion, not frame by frame motion. Vector graphics is a graphical element design that is capable of not suffering pixelisation and is easy to manupulate however its only flaw it it is nothing but shapes and extremely fake looking material. Very bland. But its cheaper and faster to use vector graphic designs so..
