The funniest part is that the idea is Joaquin to be the main attraction of the movie(Of course, he did a great job, he deserved the Oscar), but as soon as Reese is visible in the picture, she outshines everyone! I have almost never seen such a good role interpretation as she does in this movie. Actually, she does nothing special, but there's something about her in this movie that makes her character so interesting and phenomenal. She shines through the whole movie and really deserved the Oscar!

@loedwigg Actually is the exact opposite: Reese performance nowadays is generally considered overrated and her Oscar belonged to Felicity for her outstanding turn in Transamerica. Nobody remembers that she won, everybody remembers that Joaquin lost (just watch the highest rated comment).I'm not even saying that he deserved to win over Hoffman but this is definetly Phoenix's movie and Phoenix's performance.

He seemed likable but who knows. I wonder Joaquin if role was dificult for him to play that part. With his brother overdosing at the viper room. I really like Mr Cash now along with that Dubstep group, worked well in Entourage.

I mean, I spent the whole movie wondering whether Johnny was really a good man or not. But I realize he was a good man that got caught in a fucked up world. I also find it ironic that people were judging June Carter for divorcing her husband, but they had no idea that what Johnny Cash was doing looked alot more fucked up.

My mom has always said that June Carter really wanted Elvis Presley. Has anybody else heard this? When I watched the Walk The Line movie it does look like June and Elvis were in a disagreement back stage (right before she gets stuck on Johnny's guitar strap). I am not saying I believe it. I just wondered if anybody else heard this? My mom has no reason to ever have made it up.

I normally hate biopics, they all follow the same formula and tell a story we already know the jist of. There's no surprise or creative spark to them. BUT, for whatever reason, I love this movie. Johnny Cash was just that cool and Joaquin Phoenix is just that good.

It's really Phoenix singing the songs.

Phoenix has a close resemblance to Cash but doesn't sound exactly like him.

Listen to 'Ring of fire' in the movie and then listen to it by the real Cash.

I kinda thought Phoenix was in there somewhere, he has his own band as well, mind you, his own singing technique is very different to Johnny's, so it makes sense they dubbed over his. I know Reese did her own vocals though, and man oh man was she ever amazing!!!

Great song selection, but 'Ring of fire' could last long, that scene looks pretty short, for me.

I didn't know Cash and Jery Lewis know each other, and Elvis also...

@isukatlax yeah true, my grandpa (as I am swedish) was not a part of world war 2, he was just stationed as a guard to watch the trains going through sweden in 1943-44. His order was to make sure that no germans got off. They were allowed to go through.. to the finnish border. my grandpa had a pretty hard childhood too. But he was kinda clumsy too haha! Actually you can allmost write down all his failures into a book thicker than the bible! I miss him, he brought laughter to each and everyone!
