Both shows can't be from Chicago. They only played there one night on this tour, at the International Ampitheater. Kiss had fallen pretty far by this point. Judas Priest opened and blew them off the stage. Two years earlier they sold out the Chicago Stadium (20,000+) for two nights. By this time, they couldn't even sell out this place (8000). There were very noticable booing sounds coming from the Priest fans.By this tour it was clearly over. Sad.
too bad they don't have the same passion nowadays, now a kiss show is rehearsed and it pretty much became a tribute band, sure they told Tommy to change the solo act a lil bit, and told Eric he can sing Beth, but nothing beats the originals
Well after the drum solo...Paul clearly says...''HOW 'BOUT IT CHICAGO''!!!!?????....Ace at the end of Black Diamond...CHICAGO!!!!...HAVE A GOOD EVENING!.....Peter says after Beth ''CHICAGO YOUR MY KINDA' TOWN''!!!
I was at that Chicago show, but I can't confirm one way or the other if that is film of it or not. The audio certainly sounds like the audience tape that's circulating of it, but that's no guarantee that the video is from the same show.
Based on thorough photo research and the accompanying audio for this footage ("Chicago" can clearly be heard at 4:58 by and at 6:03 by Peter) it's safe to claim the first tape is from Chicago. However, the second tape is definitely not Chicago or New York but is very likely from August or September 1979. Thanks so much for posting this rare footage.

Isn't it weird how this 8mm stuff is so much more exciting to watch than the pro shot?

It sounds like Paul says "Hey Chicago, we love you!". Fantastic footage, many thanks.
