It sounds great to say "hey we should cut government waste" but it isn't that simple. There isn't that much waste in the state budget as a whole, most of the spending cuts would be on services that people depend on. It would cut jobs of service providers. If you really want to cut spending stop incarcerating people who don't deserve it, don't go to war without a clear goal, don't let banks launder money to drug lords you're trying to stop, but don't reduce the quality of gov't service more

Of course cutting spening, in some ways, "does not help the econ.", but it doesn't really hurt, either. This guy needs to take another econ. class. Economic stimulus from the government doesn't work all that well. The Democrats, I dunno who gave them this idea, have this weird notion that if you spend a trillion dollars, the economy will go to a boom in a day. It's like they have this theory that $1 of spending = 4000 minutes of sped-up recovery.

What economist ever said cutting spending will hurt the economy?? That's just absurd! Even John Maynard Keynes, the guy who put forward the theory of deficits to get us out of recessions and depressions, never said "if you cut spending, things will get worse."
