  • Sounds almost like the beginning of Mahler's fifty symphony.

  • @jeffbrak it's not a coincidence

  • I'm not sure if I could ever come up with words to describe just how much I appreciate this piece.

  • Orchestral version of this was played in beginning of Citizen Kane, during his funeral!

  • Want to cry of joy : Sublime, superb, strong songs to be sung by the soul and the heart.

  • sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but wouldn't this be in e minor? not e flat minor....?

  • @Smarttyy you know, that's actually a good question...

  • @Smarttyy you are true. this piece's e minor.

  • @singalongwithtom well, it isn't supposed to be fast, so you learned it right.

  • To be honest, I prefer 200000028's guitar version.

  • Shit, trying to learn this, didn't realise how fast it was.

  • @singalongwithtom

Beautiful piece it is but honestly I feel it rushed at times IF it is played as a funeral march. But remember it is a song without words. How would a singer sing the melody? If you remember all that, it does feel so fast anymore. But good choice to play. This piece is SO haunting.

  • @singalongwithtom It's not. I think this recording is a bit fast. Still sounds nice at a slower funeral march tempo.

  • mercury's quite right.

  • enchanted piece of music , Mendelssohn was great no doubt!

  • This is lovely and all, but the piece is in e minor, not e-flat minor.
