Informative. Guess there's no substitute for good ol' Arundo Donax. Good practice reed for the first register, but don't try to make it sound better or else you'll wreck your nice embouchure. :]

Fibre or plastic reeds were made for when oboe was part of marching band because plastic isnt affected as much by weather conditions

Fiber reeds are usually used in marching bands where you have to play longer but quality doesnt matter but always use cane!:)
