I made a better pond for less cash. I bought 12x12 liner from ebay for 40 bucks and bought timberwood from home depot and made a 8ftx8ft pond. The timberwood was $2 each and I bought 16 of them. And it does not look as ghetto as this crap.
well i hope all you learn something ,and if you didn't go to hell
first of all the man just wanted to show an idea ,2nd if he does frequent water change he can control the ammonia ,i did my pond using this idea ,and my fish are in excellent condition ,i have a filter i test water and its OK ,no reported deaths ,plus there are no toxic substance like they said in vinyl its nonsense ,and yes mine was under 20 bucks and dosent look like it see 4 your self .
i used a big rubbermaid tub for mine, you can get all colors and then planted a garden on 3 sides, i used rocks for decoration and put a 50gal filter on it, the water is beutifully clear and w/ the hard plastic you dont have to worry about holes
EuroSon99: Absolutely agree 100%. Trying to do it cheap at the expense of the fish.....stupid. What about the vinyl off gassing from that crappy kiddy pool vinyl? My advice: Spend some money and do it right!
look i did the same with a bigger pool much bigger and if your gonna do it like get a filter and somethign to get airation and put gravel on the bottom to have good bacteria and more plants ponds should be covered 1/3 with plants its not for looks deals with like nitrates and etc to when the fish feel frightened
They should report you for animal cruelty. More morons these days that want Koi but without putting in the work to build a proper Koi Pond. Koi need a good size pond that is deep enough to swim in, not at freaking 1 feet . They need a proper filter system as well or die will slowly die because of ammonia build up from the Koi feces. This ammonia is poisonous to Koi that`s why you need a filter or an enormous natural pool that can handle the build up. Not a damn baby pool.
@EuroSon99 i hav a bay ool for baby koi fish only but at least five filters thata run 24 hours a day an an atomated water changing system that replces th entire water volume every 24 hours thats what u need to house evenbabykoi
You complainers about "its too small' STFU because maybe we just dont have the time money or permission to do this!!! so lay off and keep to yourself!! the fish are fine...
@aWiibitcrazy EuroSon is absolutely right. This is no way to treat Koi or Gold fish. Filter, it needs to have a filter. If you don't know what your telking about don't. Koi need to have at least 1000 Gallons of water and that's just for one fish, then 300 extra for every Koi after that. Also they have to have Biological filtration and aeration.
very bad , kois are not a toy they need a REAL Pond with Hundreds and Hundres of gallons and a good FIltration too , i mean this hobbie is serios as you see after 2 weeks the water looked more dirty od curse without filtration i Hope there is not any cat and ate thoses fishes , i know that this video was made with a good intention but is good to know the truth about the care of this beauty animals
Look into stocktanks, there just about the same costs maybe a tiny more but way more sturdy. Also they have a drain cap at bottom so you can empty it out easy. Thats what i use for my turtles.
as you know those kiddie pools warp which is why your using the cinder blocks but the pool itself if you add a pond liner will last for years ,decades once a liner is used
@12MTG i did watch it but bro u are taking out way too much water 20 percent water change every two weeks, u need at least five filter pumps for that water volume and two decent air pumps
sorry but thats kind of ghetto unless its done by a child for their goldfish or something. I don't see how the fish would survive in stagnant water and it would also get dirty.
That's great!..smart..love it..ya!nice suggestion for everyone..we should learn that from u..haha~ hope u make more video, give more suggestion...thank for sharing by the way..
@12MTG That not ok, Ammonia builds up within a week, which burns the fishes gills. Please do not post videos of this kind of stuff encouraging others to copy this kind of animal cruelty. Do us all a favor, test your Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate and let us know what they right before you clean... And Koi are not Hardy Fish, if they do not have clean water, they get Ulcers and die.
i think that might be too small for koi but right for goldfish:D can you give me the measurements of the pond in feet like length width depth thanks:D
if i using hard plastic it cost me double or even more..also, no way i can get easy cleaning like my 2nd video..4 me, simple, practical & cheap is better..
dude thnks 4 this video i started breeding fancy guppies and already have 2 ponds my parents wont give me another one so i made one like yours with ma little sisters pool
Don't mind the dumb youtube comments, they are inevitable for all videos.
You really should consider getting a filter though, for that small a volume of water you could pick one up very cheap online, if nowhere locally.
The filter would benefit very much the fish, by providing them with a better environment, and you by providing you with healthier more vibrant fish and a better looking pond.
yes, im adding filter to my pond after one month from this video.. without filter i change the water about once a week, now with lowprice filter, about once in a month...that o.k i think..
Those poor fish. Ponds need to be treated just like a fish tank. Contrary to what alot of people think, they need to be filtered which means they need to go through the nitrogen cycle.
Those fish are pretty much swimming around in a big pool of ammonia.
i agree. I have a fish pons similar to that in my living room. they have plenty of filtration (2 underwater filters) and the ratio of fish to water surface area was proportioned right.
*nods* Not saying it's a bad idea at all, it's great for people that don't have the time or space or want it in an indoor area such as yourself. But you still have to maintain it correctly to keep the fish healthy.
Yeah, we have the thermometer to maintain temperature and an additive for the water to make it suitable for fish to live in. we change out the water regularly.
i used to have 2 big turtles and they were really messy so i had to clean the kid pool like every three days, finally, i got annoyed of it so i gave the turtles away , but i think i might get another 1 to start my fish pond, im moving to a new house soon, and we dont have much room to build a pond, so this is a really cheap way to have a good clean pond
omg what a joke , lol only good thing that pond is good for is ur mother an law, lol udont even have a filter in it , dirty as hell its just a big joke lol ,,god, i bet it smells after a year
wow youre so stupid... your pond is ugly as hell.. the whole pond of having a pond is that you can look at your fish and enjoy the nature. not looking at some ugly kid pool. and all your fishes gonna die soon
no filter, the plants will keep it clean just a pump to keep the water from being stagnant
