that's an FIR camera (I think, infrared, not that expensive). it can detect heat. might want to look into max/msp- calibrate the screen/area it looks at (the camera) and have it scan across the pixels left to right in some multiple. I don't know how to put this- it's not that hard, and simply getting it to read the video screen to make a physical sequencer isn't that big of a deal. these people have work to do in making the sequencer itself interesting and different.

My guess would be to overwrite the current samples he has that the program is directed to. Make sure they are in the same format as well. For example: If you don't like the Kick (Human Beat Box Style) sample and want to replace it with a fruity loops sample, then rename your fruity loops sample to the same name as the Old sample, make sure to overwrite it when it asks. However, if you do this, you will lose the old sample forever. To prevent this, rename the old sample to something else.
