hmm it seems a bit of a better turn based system then final fanstasy. Can u select a class? and build ur character into whatever you want? does gear have much of a difference to your characters appearance?
In this game you can select from 3 different characters Warrior,Paladin and the Mage ( it's going to be expanded later on , I think ) there is a skilltree much like in many other RPG games i.e. Diablo,WoW and so on. Might,Mind and Magic, each class has some uniques in their "own" skilltree that the other classes can't pick but apart from that you can build it like you see fit :) i.e. a Mage can take some Might abilities such as Tactics if he wishes
each skill costs runes, divided into the 3 groups, Might,Mind and Magic ( those you also get a random number of each time you lvl up ) and can be found ALL over the world. See that chest I found and fought for in the video ? .. that could just as easily have contained xx amount of runes or an artifact :) As to the gear and influence. Well, yes, if you find a shield that has +5 defence it goes to your troops defence, a shield with +xx to intelligence ..it goes to your spellpower and so on :)
I think it's 6, I only have 5 stacks with me in this case though. But there are also the moral issue to concider. but thats a whole different story :) There are all the normal DnD creatures for hire in this game, so if I wanted to, I could just make an army consisting of only undeads...BUT.... you have to look at this way: Everytime you start a new game it's random, meaning that in the shop/castle whatever that I, in the previous game, bought some Dragons may only have skeleton archers for sale
so this makes it very hard to "just" use one tactics throughout a game !! this randomness also goes for arties,scrolls runes....everthing. In this game, I am lvl 19-21 and have only found the scroll/ spell ressurection !! in theory you can go through a WHOLE game without finding some of YOUR favorite items/creatures/spells. So you really have to be creative alternatively ending up using items/creatures/spells that you dont really have a feel for..but thats the way the cookie crumbles ;)

turn based...yes to a certain point. But you have the option to roam around in the land, but when it comes to fighting , it's turn based.

I haven't played FF myself only heard about it.

ok thanks man, and i take it you can select what troops you want (i think i counted 5 on the battle field, is that the max amount?)
