The game used to be a survival horror. There was plenty of room to innovate WITHIN that genre. Instead, they scrapped the whole genre and started making fast-paced, action oriented, style games.

I miss the large space of time between enemies, the suspense that filled the void, the musical score, and the puzzles of the past. The innovations made, could have been made without destroying what made the game a survival horror.

I actually don't think that there will be a melee only fighter. In RE4 and 5 there were actually quite a lot cinematic scenes with melee fights, it just looks very familiar Although with the 6 player coop there have to be some "different" people in there I guess.

I played all the resident evils from 0 to 5 and surviver out break and all, I can see how they changed it for the camera angles because that's how games are, but I really do think they should keep puzzles in them, like for example in resident evil directors cut, the pictures where you have to figure out Youngest to oldest or in the courthouse if you wanna destroy the plant boss with chemicals you would have to figure that out. Resident evil is supposed to be a horror/survival game, what theyv done now since RE4 is just converting it to a fast paced action game which is so freaking easy any kid could play it, the puzzles in the old Resident Evils were amazing, completely confusing and intellectually built, the horror in the new ones arent there anymore, the camera angles kept you from knowing what was infront of you, it kept the sense of suprise, i loved the classic RE's, saddens me that theyv changed it so much.

I know alot of people are bummed about RE going more into the direction of RE5, but for me who's first experience was with RE franchise at number 5 was great. I find it to be one of the most enjoyable game si've played this generation. I can see how alot can be upset it's more action oriented, and the forced partner(hope they get rid of the forced partner) thing is annoying, but playing it with a buddy incredibly fun. Glad they continu this, however wouldnt mind more survival mixed in.

Id like to see a complete series reboot, I have never played resident evil but it would be nice to come into a fresh new story kind of like how they did things with Mortal Kombat redoing an old game and story but greatly adding to it, just because i hate coming into a series and not having any idea of what is going on with the back story and all that so with titles like resident evil it feels like the story has gotten all squished together and it is really hard for someone new to follow

Good point about the people complaining whether you chance a game or not, it's like CoD and BF. People hate on CoD because it doesn't completely chance every time, it just gets a few new ideas each time and the game sort of builds up each year. But then BF3 changed a lot from BF2, and you get a bunch of people complaining that it's too different, apparently the people who WANT the game to stay similar to it's previous titles. Interesting thought, that is.

I respect your opinion GUNNS but I have to diagree. Like you, I don't mind the "rehash" that resident evil offers. To be honest I don't see it much as a rehash at all but if you must argue, the first 3 games offered the same style, if you will, of gameplay and if you consider that a rehash then fine by me but I didn't mind it. I grew up with the series and even looking back onto it I still love it. No matter what, I will get RE6 and Operation Raccoon City regardless of what anyone says =)
