  • 240p... We meet again.

  • i was learning sweep picking, how did i get here ? O.o

  • I just bended it like Beckham

  • what's the right technique to bend? Some say twist your foreharm, others say stretch your finger

  • when I bend and then go back, I excidently play the other other strings too, how can I mute them, because that is screwing up the solo from knocking on heavens door, I spend too much time trying to mute the other strings

  • @Stargate674 Happens to me as well - doesn't matter how I position my fingers/wrist - something always pulls off the other strings when I lower and makes them sound, too.

  • @WestBuiltAMountain Agreed. Messes up any clean sound you've got going! Let me know if you find a knack to it...

  • What a coincidence! We got the same guitar!

  • @oOoKhaledoOo get new strings.

  • Damn you, hard-to-bend acoustic guitar strings!

  • how do you mute the other strings when your bending

  • and it sounds.............cool

    hahaha

  • cool ^_^

  • I have a problem , MY B and high E strings , ARE IMPOSSIBLE to be bend , especially from 12 to 20 , they get MUTED , if you just started trying to bend them even if very a little bit !! . and if i pushed so hard , they might get broken .... if anyone knows what is the solution to fix this , i'll be glad to know

  • @oOoKhaledoOo your problem is probably your action, it may be too low. Make sure that when you bend the strings, there is a small gap between the strings and the frets.

  • I am a beginner and I don't know any chords at all..... Does anyone know any videos on youtube that will help me? Please reply to me on youtube mail...... if not I guess you can reply to me in comments..... :)

  • Could someone help me out please -

when a piece of music says, for example, 14b16, I know it's saying bend on the 14th fret so it makes the same sound as if played on the 16th fret, but would you physically bend the string up or down in that case?

    Cheers

  • @howieboy62032914 you can bend it either way as long as you have the room for the bend.

  • @howieboy62032914 Doesn't matter which way you bend it. The tone simply changes because the lenght of part of the string that is vibrating changes. Here's a funny thing. Try playing one string, like the E string because its tone lasts long, then bend another string (that you did NOT play). You probably wanna plug your guitar into your amp or you won't be able to hear much :p

  • The video was fine, I don't know what the fuck all of you are whining about but here's a fantastic idea: if these videos don't help you DON'T FUCKING WATCH THEM.

The only problem I have is that they aren't long enough, but they're still informative.

  • expert village sucks ass

  • i completely agree!

  • and it sounds................cool

  • expert village sucks u cant really learn ô.Ô This guy is an idiot he shows us how to vibrat but not how to bend

  • @Gesreg you expert village haters need to fuck off. regardless of how good the actual video is you people bitch and moan

  • expert village sucks u cant really learn ô.Ô

  • expert village ...

  • Hehe! My name is Flexo! and I'm a BENDING unit!

  • stupid video

  • why are expert village people nazis?

  • *Walks in*

    Ohh it's expertshowoff..I mean expertvillage.

    *Walks out*

  • wouldn't the string will be snapped?

  • @RuDofCAraVAn what? if you bend? obviously you fall into the category of these expert village idiots

  • @KayC2SLO oh.. thank you... S****r

  • @RuDofCAraVAn seriously, like it's common sense. if you put added stress onto the strings [since it's already being stretched to its desired tone] there are chances it will happen. but the chances are it's slim. did you JUST start playing guitar or something? do you not hear your favourite guitarists doing it?

  • @KayC2SLO sir, my comment i posted earlier , that was the time i started playing... now i can bend perfectly... yeah...i do ... buckethead use a lot of bending

  • My problem is that while bending the E high chord, something's goin' wrong and I'm listening to the next 2 chords making sounds.

  • Hey, I'm Mike, from the band Naked Underneath, I'm a douchebag, and I can't teach guitar for shit!

  • fuck XX beer its all about XXXXX beer

  • i learned nothing

  • he only tells about it but doesn't actually explain about how to it

  • Is bending notes down possible, cause i saw something like it in a tab?

  • @malaprinceza95 what he said is fucking stupid. i believe the term you're looking for is "pre-bend"

    -_-

  • Thank you so much i saw that i had to to this on tabs so often but I just didn't get it I didn't realize it was that easy thank yo uso much

  • my friend doesn't even play and he knows how to bend a string come on is this vid really necessary?

  • @XxmynameboratxX - I'm guessing the video IS necessary seeing as (currently) 100,990 people have watched it.

  • @Stormyweld05

but its bending a string.. in order to bend a string one must... well.. bend the string

    not really that complicated

  • @XxmynameboratxX - Wrong, it can be very complicated. As someone already mentioned, it can be difficult to bend strings effectively when most learners assume that the movement comes from their fingers when, in fact, it comes from the wrist. I struggled LOADS in the beginning because I used my fingers. Videos like these are helpful to beginners.

Almost anyone can bend a string - guitarist or not. However, until taught properly, only a fraction can bend a string effectively.

  • @Stormyweld05

ok... i think everyone here is missing the concept of bending strings. what you have to do is this:

    step 1.. bend the string

the end. i knew how to bend strings before i knew what notes were because its really not difficult AT ALL to know how to do that even for a novice

  • @XxmynameboratxX - Like I said, bending a string isn't hard; anyone could do it; doing it accurately can be a bit of a slog at times, though. You may have found it piss easy and that's great. Others aren't so lucky to be at your level from the outset. Everyone' s different. :)

  • idk what people are talking about he is teaching us stop complaining maybe you dont know how to play the guitar dam this was awesome

  • thank u i have been having a hard time with this i and i finally get it

  • he explains noting , i want my 2 minutes back !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How to bend your string..........simply bend,your,string.....k

  • All these ads are getting to me.

  • titties in mah butthole

  • @TSWfilms story of my life

  • what is 10b12 ???????

    pls help it out

and can anyone tell me about hammer on

  • 10b12 is a bend from the 10th to the 12th fret

You need to bend the string on the 10th fret until it makes the sound of the 12th fret.

I dont know how to explain about the hammer ons, try to watch a video teaching hammer ons and pull offs...

  • everytime i bend my string, the finger i use to bend will slip to the upper string, and when i release it, the upper string will make noise(it still happen if i muted the upper string with my right hand palm... i cant get the clean sound and this is so annoying.. is it about the string distance with the fret board?

and because of this problem, i tend to bend my string down( insted bending it up) and the problem with bending down is, i cant continue the note with lower string...

  • YES,,,,, BUT HOW CAN I BEND IN THE e CHORD????????ITS TOO HARD MAN

  • @koutsakis7 practice

  • @koutsakis7 You don't bend the Low E chord, bend the high E chord instead. ( It's on the 7th fret and it's barred ).

  • @koutsakis7 bend upward...dont bend off the fret board

  • @koutsakis7 either down or up bend since u cant get the string out of the fret board

  • and it sounds..... cool...

  • Damn! I can't bend the strings that much, it hurts my fingers.

  • @tuore

I know that you know that you will get used to it, just try to bend it before you go to sleep so it will be easy and not noticeable...

P.S Remember not to bend it too match :P

  • pussy

  • I just got my electric guitar for Christmas and have no idea how to tune it...can someone help?

  • go to google, type in "online tuner" go to very first link, click the strings on the computer and use your ear.

  • I did tooo! i need help

  • @litaford12 Go to a store and buy an electric tuner for 30$. It's not that hard. You will never learn guitar with out of tune strings, and you'll never learn to tune it properly buy yourself im guessing, so get a medium priced tuner, and you'll never worry about it again.

  • @siccxninjaxh2o Best way is an electronic tuner. Until you get one, tune your 6th string to E. Then tune your 5th string to the 5th fret on the 6th string. Repeat with the 4th for 5th, 3rd for 4th. For the 2nd string, tune it to the 4TH fret on the 3rd string. Lastly, the 1st string is tuned normally, to the 5th fret on the 2nd string.

It's not a perfect tuning, but it'll do for you until you get an accurate electronic tuner. They can be bought for around £10/$15.

  • go online find a guitar tuner, use the knobs at the top to make the same pitch as the tone on the guitar tuner

  • Especially with distortion? Wtf?

  • omg before watching that vid i totally didnt know what is bending :D thank you dude

btw. why this sound (while bend) is other than sound withoud bend? :o

  • you increase string tension

  • have you heard in some song when the guitarist bends the string it sounds an octave higher...not in the octave where he really is....how can we do that?

  • You mean like in Steve Vai's solo?

  • artificial harmonics

  • hey i searched it and it's exactly what i wanted to learn ...thank you so much!!

  • @ChrisBuckethead

    its pinch harmonics

  • stil dont get it :(

  • Nked Underneathe?

  • When I bend, not only does my finger go under the string above, but I am not able to push it up very far. I can barely push it up to the same place as the next string. Then when I release, sometimes the string above twangs. Not to mention it goes under my nail and hurts like hell. Very frustrating.

  • I have the very same problem dude. I think it might be the fact that I play with 10s im gonna try to switch to 9s or something until my fingers are strong enough for heavier guage.

  • I figured out my problem. My guitar was built for 9s, so when I put in 11s, the strings were stretched too tight. But if your guitar is build for 11s, they will bend easy. So the thickness of the string doesn't really affect bending, but what your guitar was designed to use affects bending.

  • Man sorry but your talking shit.

First most of guitars can hold strings from 0.9 to 0.12 gauge. You can put all these gauges on the same Ibanez, Jackson, Gibson, Strat whatever...

The HIGHER the gauge, harder it is to bend. Because higher the gauge, the more tension the strings will hold. Hence some people who uses heavy strings like to tune the guitar on E flat. What makes it hard to bend is also the friction btw the neck/wood and the strings. That's why players like big frets, they reduce

  • Ok sorry, thanks for the info. I was just saying exactly what the guy at guitar center told me. So if my guitar originally came with 10s, it is ok if I use 9s?

  • Yes, sure. Just take it to a luthier so he can have the guitar set up right. It's easy to do it yourself but all take it to a luthier if you are unsure.

  • They reduce the friction , so you need less strenght and have a lot more control.

  • how can i bend the strings without damaging the calluses on my fingers?

  • Without damaging calluses? You get calluses because of being rough on your fingers. You wont really damage them, but if it hurts, just do it gradually more and more until you have enough of a callus that it doesn't hurt.

  • i do have strong enough calluses i believe...but as i continue practicing bends...the strings sometimes actually tears the calluses as i bend up, not much but some bad days....and it doesnt hurt at all but...just sometimes the strings do tear the calluses.

  • Ya you want calluses. What you don't want are blisters. Practice enough to develope calluses but not so much that you get blisters. Once you get calluses you won't have to worry about it much anymore.

  • I've been soloing on my acoustic guitar for 3 years......and I used to bend the strings on that REALLY hard(sometimes I even got 3 notes up :P).But when I tried to do that on the 17th fret of the electric guitar,it just broke :(........anbody?

  • That makes no sense...

Acoustic strings are thicker than electric strings, you'd need about a whole ass full of fingers to bend up 3 steps on an electric, let alone an acoustic.

Bending like that on the 17th fret of an electric is given. That far up the neck the pressure is tense, by bending the string you gave the string more pressure than it could handle, so it broke. Not fairly uncommon.

  • plzz can anybodytell me how can i do high bends i have hard strings is their any mechanism...........plzz do tell me....

  • Lmao "im gonna talk about..(abrubtly replies with:) strings! haha good vid

  • im trying to learn how to bend. but in what direction, what do most players do? do they bend them upward or downward? does it make any difference?

  • i bend upper strings down and lower strings up

  • If you think when you do it Upward is more easy then downward, then do is Upward ! And if you think do it downward is more easy then Upward then, do it Downward ! But i think most of player do it on the upward direction and me too i do it on the upward :)

  • It's personal preference, on both the the low E and high E you're limited to one direction but there's virtually no difference in which way you bend, some people just find it easier than others.

Bend up and down, see what fits you. Your bends might sound winy at first, you'll get it eventually.

  • i have a problem with bending too.. everytime i try to bend the string, my fingers always go below the upper string.. i know im doing it wrong cuz its suppose to look like im pushing the string upwards.. not going beneath the string.. any suggestions?

  • I have a similar problem, possibly the same one but when I bend mine I don't go under the string but the rest of my finger hits the next string up and when I release the bend my finger comes off the string above the one I'm supposed to be bending and creates a very undesireable sound. I've tried palm muting the string but you can still hear the sound

  • I used to have the same problem, i found that holding the string above slightly with you first finger keeps it muted and stops the string from going up your finger nail, you could also try lowering the action

  • hahaha it can sound.........coooool..........

  • hey i've a little problem with bending.

Almost all the times i've done bendigs for a while, i broke the 1st string a few times. What could be the problem?

  • You bend it too far.Just try to find out how far you can go.Try the same with the sixth (low E) string, and it won't break due to its thickness.Remember that you should bend strings 1 and 2 (the high ones) up,but 3-6 down (the "thicker" ones).

  • Strumming too hard or not cleaning your strings

What gauge strings are you using on what guitar?

  • I think I use 09. How i clean my strings? Do i have to buy something? Because i dont want to

  • Wiping them after you play is a good idea. And .009 is light...what guitar do you have?

  • An epiphone Sg Special II.

  • Try heavier strings like .010 or .011

  • you might be strumming too hard on it as well as pushing it up too quickly, be gentle.

  • good

  • winxcrate you are an asshole

  • I LOVE EXPERT VILLAGE!!

  • Miguel Trigoli, most songs by aerosmith can be played with 3 guitars nicely Lead, Rhythm, and I guess it would be rhythm 2, just play the chorus of rhythm a little higher up

  • I love how he ends the video

    Mike: It sounds ......... coooool

  • Ok...here's the problem with this video; the guy talks about bending but never really explains it at all..he even flew right the using the word whole step without explaining the word..students need to understand the mechanics of how the hand actually works when bending. For example; when first attempting bends, students will try to "push" the bending note with the fingers instead of realizing that it is actually a "turning" motion that starts from the wrist. Not helpfulll

  • @DavisGuitarStudio Here's another prob with this Village Idiot- the tuning- he's UP a half-step wtf?? That's nice and confusing for a beginner- no wonder it sounds flat!! lmao!!

  • Comment removed

  • hey im barely beginning how do u get youre guitar to sound like that?

  • how does he get the guitar to sound like that

  • effect pedal,

not sure what effect though, its been a while.

  • i am looking for a song played with 3 guitars

    could anybody help me?

  • i can but it will be one guitar a video

  • dude whenever I bend strings I'm scared of snapping them so I only go less than a half step up =(

  • They won't break dude.

  • dude, they wont break string are very, very strong. And even if a string snaps, strings are like $10 - 50$ so dont worry and nail those solos without a flaw.

  • I buy strings for $4.99 =P GHS Guitar Boomers

  • dude guitar is hard

  • "cuz u get same feedback and it sounds...cool"

haha he is high but its all goooood

  • the guy is sooooooo high on weeeeeeed

  • obama is not

  • wheneveri bend the strings, my fingers go under the other srtings. what am i doing wrong?

  • lol

  • I have the same problem... Than the other strings make strange sounds!

  • Same here, there is like no way I could learn.

  • He should have taught the technique. People dont bend with your fingers but bend from your wrist :)

  • I need help.

I have been playing guitar for almost a year now and I'm pretty good. I play alot of GNR so I need help with my bend. When I bend a string the string over the next starts to ring.

For example, when I bend the B string the D string starts to ring open. Plz help thanks

  • ok well its probley either your strings, your pickups, or how you are bending the string. If you bend the string make sure the other stings arent below the string your bending or above it :)

  • Same thing i can not play fast because begin shit like this. I ask people who can good they say "just practice"

  • I did bending, but I was curious about the following: Isn't it bad for your strings?

  • no as long as you dont do it every time you play a note. and dont bend it up past 3 frets

  • Thanks!

  • that was catagorically the worst lesson ive ever viewed, you didn't actually say how you bend the strongs, finger positions, how to avoid catching other strings whilst bending, are these lessons or just people showing off disguised as a lesson :S

  • thanks for the info, dude!

  • thanks

  • ya now i can start on the solo for sunshine of your love!

  • So I Pick First , Bend Second ?

  • u can bend first then pick if you want, its all about experimentation!!!

  • u can really try this on own trust me ^^

  • wow thanks lol :)
