This was a really good game.. Leafs came back but the Isles were just too much for them.. Actually Dwayne Roloson was just too much for them.. The Isles blew it but Roli the Goalie got another 2 points for his team.. Amazing effort..

Bergenheim showed excellent patience making that quick pass to Baily. Also, if you want to know why the Leafs lost, look at the winning goal. The Leafs coughed it up big time. Yes, 61 shots on net, but when it mattered most, they coughed up the puck with Islanders deep in their zone. The Isles tick-tack-toe made the Leafs look like amateurs on that winning goal, and I'm not just saying that because I'm an Islander fan.

I was at the game. The Leafs carried the play for the first period but couldn't score while #35 allowed 3 goals on 15 shots. I didn't see one good bodycheck from these "pick and shovel men" in another home loss. Excepting #s 81 and 15 this is the least talented Leaf squad I've ever seen. They're just not good enough to compete and they are not tough to play against (as advertised). There is no captain because there is no leadership being shown on the ice. It's another sad year fans.

I completely agree. This incarnation lacks heart or desire, or passion. However one phrases it players like Tucker never leave me feeling like a sucker for rooting for them. The face value of my ticket was $196 to watch these corporate zombies play high-end beer league hockey. Fool me once... . I'll be back when they learn to hate losing. Now it's just excuses.

if you watch the highlights toskala stopped 2 breakaways and TONS of good scoring chances before allowing a goal ON A BREAK AWAY a deflection and that last one was kinda iffy

Okay i think the leafs need to tighten up their defence and Toskala HAS to work on his upper glove side and i know they had 61 shots but they needed to capitalize on their power play chances. But yeah it was a disappointing lost.

I agree completely. But also, a good 25 of those saves or more were not hard saves at all. Most were right along the ice. Even all three goals were scored right along the ice. I think the Leafs will do better if they get more quality scoring opportunities rather than a high quantity of crappy ones.
