Thank you Frank for taking us so close to the Coot. Even the webbed feet was something I have never seen before. Loved the background sound of nature too.
@NamaSika Thank you. Coots are quite common where I live but I'd never taken a real close look before so I was glad to have my camera with me when this one decided to get so near to me.
@ghough12 Thanks Graham, yes I was using the FZ100. In the editing process I slightly brightened the close-up shot of the coots head to get an improved view of the eyes. This camera seems to give better video results in softer light conditions when there is some cloud cover.
@Roolooth99 Yes I found that too, digital cameras have far less lattitude to exposure than film so overcast lighting reduces the contrast differences and the sensor is much more able to get the highlight and shadow ( or brighter/ darker) digitised better.
@MoviesMusicNature Yes they are. The bird seemed as curious about me as I was of him, he came right up close to me so I zoomed in for the detailed shot of the feet.

That is one cute curious coot! Esp., the feet, or is it toes? This one is up close and personal. Makes me wish it was my pet :). So pretty!

FZ100 I take it? good shots of the head as the white highlights normally burn out especially in bright sunshine.
