A couple things I forgot to mention: This place is called Canaan, right? Canaan was in the general area of ancient Mesopotamia, the same place where Gilgamesh took place. The names are all very reminiscent of Mesopotamian stuff--Isha is similar to Ishtar, the goddess of...get ready for this...love and war. Read the following list of characters from Gilgamesh and see how much they remind you of names in this game. Anu Ea Enkidu Enlil Humbaba Ishtar Ishallanu Mashu Ninsun Shamash Siduri Urshanabi
From the first comment, you probably saw the similarities between Napishtim and Utnapishtim. Also, you might have noticed that the Ark is somewhat of a rectangular prism, like a cube.
Now, you may be thinking, "This Ark is definitely not a boat!" Well, I agree. It is also not a cube. On top of that, it appears to be sentient, and according to Olha, once you go there, you cannot return!
My point is, this game is a cross between The Epic of Gilgamesh and 2001: A Space Odyssey! What do you think?
Okay, this may take a couple comments to explain, but I'mma do it!! Youtube character limits can't stop me!
First thing: A lot of this is a reference to the Epic of Gilgamesh. Utnapishtim was a dude who, like the biblical Noah, was approached by a god and told to build a boat to escape a flood... going with the biblical idea, let's call it an Ark.
The god, Ea, was specific about how to build it. What seemed the strangest to me was the fact that it was to be a cube.
