Hi again Mark,...I'm deffo going to copy your cool solution...I reckon it's the best of all iv'e seen for the 1050 lights. I can see that you soldered the neg and pos cables of each led together but as i'm not really understanding the white wire relay into the right hand highbeam part, I was just wondering if you have any ideas about where I could grab some technical info or even a step by step guide showing how to wire them up from A -Z on the Tiger? If not, no worries & thanks anyway :O)
@pezmiddleton The white wire goes from the full beam circuit to the relay to tell it to send power to the LED lights. The relay is permanently powered direct from the battery, there is an electromagnet inside relays that opens and closes a switch - this is powered by the white signal wire. Its a standard way of wiring aux lights that operate only on full beam. If you want driving lights which are on all the time, you do not need a relay - a switch on the handlebars would be better.
Not a stupid question, but I am no expert. IMO I would think 1500 lumin is too much for aux low beam lights- I think at night and or in rain the light would reflect off the road too much into oncoming traffic. I would have thought something like 500 lumins would be more appropriate for this, and you would still need to angle them down. Why don't you e-mail Komy? - he has loads of experience selling LED lights and is very helpfull or visit his eBay shop to see what he has got... Good luck.
Hey Mark, cool vid. I found it becuase i was looking for tips on how to upgrade the deadly lights on the 1050. This is probably a silly question so please forgive me. If the led's are angled slightly down to avoid dazzle, could they not be "permanantly on" by wiring them in to the dipped position? I expect there is a very good reason why you wired then into the brights relay. Great idea by the way,,,,best solution to these dire Tiger lights I've seen. Cheers! Pez
@britex3186 I know - its one of the top 3 mods I have done to the bike. You should see them in the flesh - much better than the camera can pickup. Very happy with the lights now. :-)
Just an opinion my friend, u should relay your auxiliary lights to your high beams that way they only turn on like that. Thats what ive done to my truck yesterday
@santana77780 If you look towards the end of the video, you can see where I mounted relay and in-line fuse holder (under seat) and explanation of using full beam circuit to switch the spots on like you said. I've always wired spots in like this :)
what brand are those? where did you buy? how much?
Thanks!
