Well, it is at best a clever compromise, as I said. This would not be my choice for any pipe organ if funds and space are available for an instrument of sufficient scope.
I also really like the way the organ sounds around 1:43-1:45. The Casavant organ i played once also sounds like this sometimes. Do you know why they sound like this? Its really nice, and i've never heard anything other than a Casavant organ make this sound.
I think it might be the 4 ft coupler, because last week i was playing a casavant organ, and the organ would sound like yours did when the 4ft coupler was on
Yes, I have discussed this in the organ forums. I agree with you it's too bad we can't fill the chamber with pipes; it's simply not in the picture financially at this time. And no, they don't see the audio enhancement as an excuse not to do better. It's a matter of using what I have done or not having any enhancement at all.
I think I've heard of your project elsewhere last year... have you posted about this at the Organ Forum? Too bad you couldn't get a project going to fill those two empty chambers with pipes! However, I'm quite impressed with your budget results. Just don't do so good they'll use it as an excuse not to do better!
WOW! Thats so innovative!

I see this as the way of the future. Accoustic organs with amplified reinforcement. Makes perfect sense.

Don't know. What you are hearing is the Great Trumpet at 8 and 4 ft. and amplified to "Mirabilis" proportions!

It think these videos are great. It seems like you did a good job maximizing the resources of the organ. Nice sounding Casavant!
