Also, touch-typists tended to “think ahead” of what they were typing. All it’d take would be, after the first line, the clerk gets distracted (phone call, etc.), and forgetting that s/he’d not yet typed in the gender, Month of Birth, etc. (that being on his/her mind before distraction). So, s/he proceeds to type up the rest, then after removing it from the typewriter, notices the omission, re-inserts the paper form, and types that line in. Of COURSE it doesn’t line up.
@kdenninger, On the matter of the alignment, I do believe that you are correct that the line beginning with “Male” through the month, but not day nor year, of the Date of Birth, was typed separately, but I doubt that it was malicious nor fraud.
You forget how typewriters worked back then. The old mechanical (or even electric) hammer-type had a carriage that moved, and much of the line that one was typing on was BLOCKED FROM VIEW except right around the spot where one was typing.
@kdenninger, okay, I think that’ll do for the layers and background stuff. Thanks for actually using “Optimize Scanned PDF,” though. May I suggest that, for a closer (but still not perfect) match, that you obtain some security patterned paper of your own, download the WHITE BACKGROUND, HI-RES copy from the Associated Press, and print THAT ONTO the patterned paper, then repeat your experiment? There’s still the fingerprints / dust / CCD sensor signal noise, etc., but this should be closer.

If you look at your printout with a magnifying glass, you’ll see what should’ve been obvious: unless you own an expensive Hexachrome printer, your color printer has no actual GREEN ink! It has CYAN and YELLOW! The “green” is actually printed with a pattern of CYAN and YELLOW ink dots!
But the security paper that the official copy was printed on was PRESS-printed with HONEST-TO-GOODNESS •GREEN• INK!
@kdenninger, A MAJOR consideration here is what you say about the background, and that quite simply doesn’t apply. Why not? Because you PRINTED the background with your INKJET (or color laser) printer! The background on the official document was PRE-PRINTED on a PRINTING PRESS! The birth certificate itself DOES NOT have that background (see the AP version). Only the OFFICIAL COPY does, because it was COPIED ONTO SPECIAL paper that ALREADY HAD that security background (also why no curve at left)!
Also, no new nor missing dust nor fingerprints nor smudges, etc. on the paper itself, internal scanner optics, etc. etc. etc. — oh, yeah, and all tens of thousands of CCDs in the scanner bar would have to emit the same exact random noise at the same exact times throughout the scan as they did when the official one was scanned to produce the official .PDF!
Good luck trying to replicate THOSE circumstances! The resulting image file has to be BIT-FOR-BIT identical.
The only way you could expect to get the SAME layers would be if you had the same document that was scanned to produce the official .PDF, AND the same scanner, AND that the paper was lined up EXACTLY in the same position AND orientation on the scanner to the tens-of-thousandths of an inch accuracy, AND that NO new dust nor fingerprints had wound up on the scanner glass, nor had any previous ones been cleaned nor simply fallen off in the interim,
@kdenninger, nice attempt at analysis, but you made a fundamental mistake: you can NOT compare a LASER or (worse) INKJET printout of a low-resolution image file to a document made by scanning an OFFSET PRINTED security pattern on which was Xeroxed a high-resolution PHOTO-PRINTED form.
Your eyes may not easily tell the difference, but your scanner is at least 1,200DPI optical resolution (unless it’s really old). 300dpi is near the limit of human vision (see iPhone 4 “Retina” display).

That effect is caused because the original has no patterned background (a high-res copy is available at Associated Press [AP], and does NOT have the green background at all). It was bound in a book of such certificates, laid against a scanner or copier, and copied onto paper that had the green security pattern already on it.

You don't need special software to see the layers, JUST Click on PDF on WH site , it will open in your free adobe reader, zoom in 800%, move around the screen, due to the 800%, size your PC will take a few secs to display the image, You will see what the the video is saying, cause you will see the layers slowly coming together proving that the PDF on the WH site was created with many layers of images each layer containing different info, ITS EASY TO SEE. by comparing the spacing in distant lines you assume the original paper was put in the typewriter squarely, then again scanned squarely to match with your horizontal and vertical lines in the program.
You would really need an AI computer program to "optimize" the race of the father as "African" which was not the language used in 1961. Also, the security paper does not bend together with the left side of the black offprint.
Karl, have you seen the following video? It shows that when the Obama "birth document" is placed in Adobe photoshop, 2 of the Bs in 2 places where Obama's name appears, match perfectly. I would think this is proof of deliberate manipulation of the document since it's impossible for the 2 type written Bs from 1961 to be a perfect match.
@Skywitness Unfortunately not, since the document has been "enhanced". You need a high-resolution scan (e.g. in TIF or PNG format) of the original alleged document, or a physical examination of the original.
I looked at my birth certificate. Everything is right in line and doesnt look sloppy. Also it doesnt have a weird green hatch on it extending past the document. Im sure if I scanned or took a pic of it, it would look like a pic of a piece of paper with a natural background like a table or something.

Obama has a problem with the US Constitutiion and no personalities involved at all. Any President gets challenged on their citizenship it's up to the President to offer certified proof of birth in the US including his parents where also citizens. It should be automatic on the part of the President. He has spent $millions in courts to stop inspection of his documented past. Yes, I don't like his cover up of 2 years.

Furthermore, Mr. Skousen purports that, "these are either/or types of certification- mutually exclusive! No one can have both." This means that one of the two birth certificates is a fraud.

The OFFICIAL State Government of Hawaii website (Hawaii-dot-gov) flat-out states that a CertificaTION of Live Birth is used for ANYONE, and that when any request is made for a birth certificate, that is what is provided. The CertifiCATE of Live Birth is normally only kept in the Vital Records vault, and normally not even the person for whom it is can get a copy of it (they made a special exception for Obama, just to settle this issue).

Mr. Skousen purports that they are mutually exclussive; therefore, if you want to put forth evidence of someone else from Hawaii possessing both types of birth certificates then that would certainly strengthen you position.

I think we have been made hapless witnesses to some fancy political and legal razzle-dazzle. Just pretending a trustworthy party had gone the to the proper ledger and found the signed certificate in 2007 or 2008, Obama would have been subject to a Senate hearing as was McCain, and the issue of what constitutes a "natural born' citizen should have been put to a Supreme Court test. This was not acceptable... Dual or multiple loyalties has become a problem; the founding fathers were correct.
Why did OBAMA produce a certified copy dated 4/25/2011 and not produce the same copy he should have submitted when he decided to run for President? WTF.
This whole fiasco reminds me of the whole "We didn't land on the moon" conspiracy.
On the surface it may seem as though these arguments are solid but given enough time and expertise you'll find that the "proof" is actually flimsy or can be easily explained away.

If you highlight and cut the whole second line, then paste it and align the first letter of the second line (and the subsequent letters) all line up. Is that so unbelievable?

1:35 RE: Degredation in background. That's because the microfiche from which the print was made was not 100% opaque in the "black" areas, so when the print was made it slightly grayed the entire rectangular region onto which the document was printed. It's not "degraded", it's just that the part of the paper that were white got slightly grayed.
Kdenninger....i see the arguments that you're making - and they're compelling - but i think at this point this issue is now a distraction. "Birthers" were looked upon by the mainstream media as morons and conspiracy theorist before he released his version of the proof of his citizenship. I think for people with your beliefs about this issue - it's a tough pill to swallow. But i think its time to swallow the pill and move on to more pressing issues - as hard as it'll be. Also, touch-typists tended to “think ahead” of what they were typing. All it’d take would be, after the first line, the clerk gets distracted (phone call, etc.), and forgetting that s/he’d not yet typed in the gender, Month of Birth, etc. (that being on his/her mind before distraction). So, s/he proceeds to type up the rest, then after removing it from the typewriter, notices the omission, re-inserts the paper form, and types that line in. Of COURSE it doesn’t line up.

@kdenninger, On the matter of the alignment, I do believe that you are correct that the line beginning with “Male” through the month, but not day nor year, of the Date of Birth, was typed separately, but I doubt that it was malicious nor fraud.
You forget how typewriters worked back then. The old mechanical (or even electric) hammer-type had a carriage that moved, and much of the line that one was typing on was BLOCKED FROM VIEW except right around the spot where one was typing.

@kdenninger, okay, I think that’ll do for the layers and background stuff. Thanks for actually using “Optimize Scanned PDF,” though. May I suggest that, for a closer (but still not perfect) match, that you obtain some security patterned paper of your own, download the WHITE BACKGROUND, HI-RES copy from the Associated Press, and print THAT ONTO the patterned paper, then repeat your experiment? There’s still the fingerprints / dust / CCD sensor signal noise, etc., but this should be closer.

If you look at your printout with a magnifying glass, you’ll see what should’ve been obvious: unless you own an expensive Hexachrome printer, your color printer has no actual GREEN ink! It has CYAN and YELLOW! The “green” is actually printed with a pattern of CYAN and YELLOW ink dots!
But the security paper that the official copy was printed on was PRESS-printed with HONEST-TO-GOODNESS •GREEN• INK!

@kdenninger, A MAJOR consideration here is what you say about the background, and that quite simply doesn’t apply. Why not? Because you PRINTED the background with your INKJET (or color laser) printer! The background on the official document was PRE-PRINTED on a PRINTING PRESS! The birth certificate itself DOES NOT have that background (see the AP version). Only the OFFICIAL COPY does, because it was COPIED ONTO SPECIAL paper that ALREADY HAD that security background (also why no curve at left)!

Good luck trying to replicate THOSE circumstances! The resulting image file has to be BIT-FOR-BIT identical.

@kdenninger, nice attempt at analysis, but you made a fundamental mistake: you can NOT compare a LASER or (worse) INKJET printout of a low-resolution image file to a document made by scanning an OFFSET PRINTED security pattern on which was Xeroxed a high-resolution PHOTO-PRINTED form.
Your eyes may not easily tell the difference, but your scanner is at least 1,200DPI optical resolution (unless it’s really old). 300dpi is near the limit of human vision (see iPhone 4 “Retina” display).

@alphaomegastables, Show me in the Constitution where it says that a dual citizen is not a Natural Born citizen, or is otherwise ineligible to be President of the USA. The ONLY requirements are that he be at least 35 years old, AND either a Natural Born Citizen OR (grandfather clause that no longer applies since nobody alive has qualified for well over a century now).
You’re correct about him not being the first African-American President, but wrong on why.

That effect is caused because the original has no patterned background (a high-res copy is available at Associated Press [AP], and does NOT have the green background at all). It was bound in a book of such certificates, laid against a scanner or copier, and copied onto paper that had the green security pattern already on it.

You don't need special software to see the layers, JUST Click on PDF on WH site , it will open in your free adobe reader, zoom in 800%, move around the screen, due to the 800%, size your PC will take a few secs to display the image, You will see what the the video is saying, cause you will see the layers slowly coming together proving that the PDF on the WH site was created with many layers of images each layer containing different info, ITS EASY TO SEE. The alignment theory does not hold water at all. My own birth certificate does not line up and the X's are not striking directly in the box.Also this type of paper was not used in 1962 they used a more basic paper. guys ya'll need to slow your minds down and think through this a little better. The text is not definitive at all.

One of the real problems is that the US infrastructure relies much too heavily on cheap oil, and the combination of too much debt and running out of cheap oil could crush that infrastructure, and your food production. I voted for him too. However, I thought I was set in my ways in my 40s. However, I would love to someone to massively cut out the union fraud out of government. With Bush Tax cuts in place, I think we could easily see a large surplus. Not from people working harder since they get to keep more, but from budget cuts.

Karl, have you seen the following video? It shows that when the Obama "birth document" is placed in Adobe photoshop, 2 of the Bs in 2 places where Obama's name appears, match perfectly. I would think this is proof of deliberate manipulation of the document since it's impossible for the 2 type written Bs from 1961 to be a perfect match.

I looked at my birth certificate. Everything is right in line and doesnt look sloppy. Also it doesnt have a weird green hatch on it extending past the document. Im sure if I scanned or took a pic of it, it would look like a pic of a piece of paper with a natural background like a table or something.

Obama has a problem with the US Constitutiion and no personalities involved at all. Any President gets challenged on their citizenship it's up to the President to offer certified proof of birth in the US including his parents where also citizens. It should be automatic on the part of the President. He has spent $millions in courts to stop inspection of his documented past. Yes, I don't like his cover up of 2 years.

In addition to the previous informative post, I would like to add that according to Mr. Skousen the Certification of Live Birth is, "used exclusively for births outside of a hospital where no doctors or witnesses are present." Furthermore, Mr. Skousen purports that, "these are either/or types of certification- mutually exclusive! No one can have both." This means that one of the two birth certificates is a fraud.

The OFFICIAL State Government of Hawaii website (Hawaii-dot-gov) flat-out states that a CertificaTION of Live Birth is used for ANYONE, and that when any request is made for a birth certificate, that is what is provided. The CertifiCATE of Live Birth is normally only kept in the Vital Records vault, and normally not even the person for whom it is can get a copy of it (they made a special exception for Obama, just to settle this issue).

@COMALiteJ If I was born in Hawaii and tried to use the "short form" to get my driver's license in North Carolina it would not be accepted because it does not have the state seal embossed. Mr. Skousen purports that they are mutually exclussive; therefore, if you want to put forth evidence of someone else from Hawaii possessing both types of birth certificates then that would certainly strengthen you position.

According to hawaii-dot-gov, a CertificaTION of Live Birth is NOT “almost as good as” a birth certificate. Nor even “just as good as.” It •IS• a birth certificate! The term “birth certificate” is to the Hawaii State Government an UMBRELLA term that covers •BOTH• CertifiCATIONS •AND• CertifiCATES of Live Birth!

I think we can all examine and reexamine the document and reach certain conclusions as to whether the document is real or fake. I came across an angle that I have not heard of from anyone else. According to Joel Skousen editor of the "World Affairs Brief" "No person who has a certification of live birth can possibly have the hospital type as well- because if they were born in a hospital they would never would have had the certification of life birth form in the first place."

i would like to offer an alternate explanation.
the person typing this on the typewriter did want to do a good job, but getting it all aligned perfectly is not that easy to do. So after the first X kind of missed the box it was supposed to go in, he or she pulled out the paper and put it back in to make the rest fit better.
thats a more simple explanation than all of these nonsensical birther claims.

as long as you are not using a very, very cheap typewriter or pulling out the paper and putting it back in, or unless you put in the paper at an angle, it would line up. if you get it wrong on the first try, notice, pull out the paper, put it back in, and maybe even repeat that process until you are satisfied, then OF COURSE the rest would line up. i might be young, but im not stupid. dont tell me you need to be old to understand how the old typewriters work.

My aunt is not an US citizen, but has been living there for 40+ years, and got a child on US soil, her husband is an US citizen, now her daughter is before the law and in fact a natural-born US citizen.

I think we have been made hapless witnesses to some fancy political and legal razzle-dazzle. Just pretending a trustworthy party had gone the to the proper ledger and found the signed certificate in 2007 or 2008, Obama would have been subject to a Senate hearing as was McCain, and the issue of what constitutes a "natural born' citizen should have been put to a Supreme Court test. This was not acceptable... Dual or multiple loyalties has become a problem; the founding fathers were correct.

Anybody that has ever dealt with image compression knows that the compression artifacts get worse if you render, then re-compress the image.

And you're still harping on the background with the LEFT side clearly shows that the small birth certificate was overlaid another piece of paper (a bigger one) probably to accommodate the new seal and signatures at the bottom. C'mon. One item like that forgotten, maybe. That many? I don't believe it and neither does anyone else who has ever used an actual TYPEWRITER. 20-somethings, on the other hand, never have and don't get it - they've always lived in a word-processing world.

@kdenninger I think they initially failed to type the entire second line, then went back, reinserted the paper and re-typed it. Really, I do. If you highlight and cut the whole second line, then paste it and align the first letter of the second line (and the subsequent letters) all line up. Is that so unbelievable?

1:35 RE: Degredation in background. That's because the microfiche from which the print was made was not 100% opaque in the "black" areas, so when the print was made it slightly grayed the entire rectangular region onto which the document was printed. It's not "degraded", it's just that the part of the paper that were white got slightly grayed.

"Birthers" were looked upon by the mainstream media as morons and conspiracy theorist before he released his version of the proof of his citizenship.
