  • You would never know you were not a natural redhead. You are stunning. I am a natural redhead; though at 43 now have to cover us some darn white hairs. Love your videos and I will be watching.

  • you may want to look into using natural henna.thats what i use.

  • How is your hair cut-are the layers and bangs cut in a particular way? also do u have a makeup tutorial for this look? So PRETTY!

  • I LOVE your hair and makeup here! : D This is the color I wanted when I went red, i'm thinking of going back.

  • i love your slouchy beanie!

  • naturally im a brunet but ive always had this weird strip of red, so i wanted more red highlights. little did i know theyd fade and become a caramel color that i love even more :) idky i just thought id share that

  • I am also thinking of going red and love the color you have. Great videos! I, like you, have curly, frizzy hair naturally. Mine is dark brown and is relatively healthy since is not colored. I am currently trying the Kronos system. It's pricey but you can do a 30 day trial for 5 bucks. I used the product PHYX over night and then shampoo, conditioned and then used the liquid theory and let my hair air dry and it was considerably less frizzy. After it dried I flat irioned a section and it was...

  • You do have fantastic hair. You're the only person I've seen with red hair, that actually made me think about going red. It makes your eye pop in this incredible way, very beautiful.

  • I have the same trouble. For thick hair try Main n' Tail it was originally made for horse hair which is very thick and coarse. You can find it at Wal-Mart its wonderful for moisturizing. I would recommend switching it on and off through out the week .

  • You look so polished and chic. Very classy indeed.

  • I have naturally red hair and I get a lot of compliments, but I also get a lot of rude comments. Mainly from guys. Mainly sexual things, and I find it very hurtful. It used to bother me a lot more when I was younger, but now I just ignore it. I love my hair color.

  • i dont want to go red, but i want to go a lighter brown and my hair is dark brown, would i be able to go lighter?

  • I'm new to being a redhead, and I watched your video. It was great but you didnt mention your brows which is my big problem with my red hair. I have dark brown eyebrows and I used to use browzings by Benefit to define, but now that I'm red I can't find anything!

  • @Megan940 I'm the reverse: I'm naturally a mousy dark blonde and dye it bright red. Men are like "Is it natural? Is it natural? Do you dye it?", (which they never ask for any other color) and women are either nice, or act really threatened. So yeah. I feel you. I figured out red brings out the weirdness in some people. But I still love being a redhead!

  • you are soo pretty!

  • I dye my hair red too, I love it, and I do it at home. I do the roots with a permanent dye from sally's, then I use the manic panic brand on the rest of my hair, and I do this every 3 weeks!!!

and I like the perverted comments, I do it's fun, LOL jajajajaja

  • Aw, thank you so much. You're right. I get

approached by people all the time with

weird comments about my hair. It's

probably because it's so rare. You should

be lucky that it comes natural to you!

  • what about your bangs? are they bettie cut or another?

  • I actually took a picture of Monica Bellucci with bangs into my hair dressers. They do start further back like the Bettie bang and have about the same thickness, but they're not u-shaped. They have a bit of a side swept look to them, but because they're so short I can get away with them looking a little more Bettie-esque. It's all in the way you blow dry them.

  • How do u refresh ur hair color? Are there any color depositing shampoos for red?

  • I'm not too sure. I don't use any from the drug stores because they always fade the red in a short amount of time. I usually just stick with the color saving shampoo they sell at my salon.

  • i have you 5 stars

  • Thank you :)

  • Do you color your eyebrows too or just use a reddish pencil on them? If you dye them, do you get it done at the salon when u color the rest of your hair?

  • I just use a reddish pencil on them.

I either use Strut from MAC or an Annabelle

    eye pencil in Auburn.

  • How often do you wash your hair, and how cold is the water when you wash it?

I dyed my hair red 2 days ago and I'm afraid to wash it until I know what to do.

  • I usually wash it every three days. As

for the water, it's usually as cold as I

    can stand it!

  • I love your hair.... i want to have my hair red but i'm afraid that it wil be difficult to change it if i chenge my mind.... do you know anything about that?

  • @FairiousSolana if you don't like it after you dye yiur hair red then you can always dye it a light brown or darker if you wish.

  • Well, it depends on how dark the red is.

It's always easier to go darker than it is

to go lighter. So, make sure you really

    know what you want.

  • Hi

You said you could try and ask your colorist the formula she used... did you get to ask her? Thanks :)

  • Not yet. I haven't had the money to go back yet but I will soon!

  • i like the lip gloss you used

can you tell me what kind it is

    thank you :)

  • I used Marquise' D lipstick from MAC and a lip glass from them as well called Prrr.

  • dont have to spend money so often if u dont have it the brand is alfapart ia a profesional brand and the shampoo name is jean color u can search in internet too many places have it check it i really recomend this and we know how hard is take care of red hair so i hope it helps! :) sorry for the comment so long :)

  • Can i give u a tip? my hais was blue black and i dye it red is a couple months that i have red hair and is really red now im kinda supriced and glad too, the problem with red hair is! it fade away so fast so i bougth a shampoo that dye your hair well kinda cuz help your hair still the red that u have till u dye it again and u

  • Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it!

  • Thanks for giving me the credit. I'm the one who told you to dye it red. You didn't want to. It took me about 7 months to talk you into it.

Btw, I'm going to get you a new webcam for your birthday. It sounds like you have a lisp.

    Love you babe

  • lol Well, I had no idea it would look good on me, but you were right!

My camera does suck, I know. I've been meaning to get a new one. You don't have to do that though, sweetheart.

I love you so much too! :)

  • I used to have red hair like yours but I had it as peekaboos. I got so many compliments when I had it...but it's true, it takes a lot to maintain in the beginning because red fades faster than all the other colors. I dunno if you have ever tried "L'oreal Colorist Collections for Reds" shampoo and conditioner. It's about $8 a bottle and I used it everytime I washed my hair and it helped maintain the color for such a long time. Since I only had peekaboos, I only had to color my hair every 4-6 mth

  • Hi Ashley... I forgot to ask: when you go in for touch ups, does your colourist bleach your naturally brunette roots? Or does she simply put put the dye on your roots? (Hope that makes sense!) Thanks, again!

  • Hey! She just uses the dye and applies

it to my roots. Then after a while she'll pull

it through all of my hair. Hope that helps!

  • ah the black hair. i remember the black hair. i have pictures of you with the black hair! i have pictures of you with your natural hair color too ;)

but the red is definitely my favorite! it suits you very well :)

  • Haha I hate most pictures other people have of me, especially from high school and younger. I like the red too, i wish it were natural. I probably would never dye it.

  • Love your videos.

I adore your hat, where can I find it?

  • Thank you! I got it at H&M.

  • Hello darling... Thanks for the info.

  • Hello! No problem :)

  • Thank you for this video, Ashley! Definitely a 'favourite!' Your hair has so much volume. I know you said that you have thick hair, but can you please share what styling (hairspray, mousse, gel, etc) product you use? TIA!

  • Thank you! I usually use Got2B - "Kinky" mousse which is a curl defining product. You can get it at any drugstore usually and I use that for the days when I wear my hair curly. As for hairspray I either use Big Sexy Hair or Got2B - 2 sexy hairspray which you can also find at Wal-mart or any drugstore. Hope this helps!

  • Thanks, Ashley! Yay, I really like the Got2B 2 Sexy hairspray as well! Definitely a staple on my vanity table! ;)

  • I was also gonna suggest henna. Henna is actually good for your hair.

  • I should definitely look into that! Especially if I don't have the money to go to the salon, so thank you!

  • You are just soo beautiful:]

    nicole kidman move over lol

I love your beret where did you get it?

  • lol, thank you! I wish I looked like her.

I got it from H&M last year!

  • Have you ever used henna to dye or maintain/ condition your red hair color? Or have you ever consider using it?

  • I've heard good things about it, but I've never tried it. I'm sort of worried that if I use it and go back to the salon, it might ruin the color? I'm not sure, I don't know too much about it.

  • As far as I know henna is really great for your hair and will not ruin the color if you decide to go back to the salon.. I've been told Henna tends to stay a bit more on the natural side so you may not get the same vibrancy.

  • Thanks, just wondering. I've seen people use it and get close to your shade (which I adore and would love to pull off), which is why I ask. My friend uses it, so I know a bit, and it shouldn't ruin your hair if you decide to go back to the salon way. That would only happen if you got it from a box (which you don't use anyway), because it has lots of metal oxide fillers. Body art quality henna has no adverse effects that I know, other than neck strain from the amount of time you leave it in.

  • Love the lighting.

    Marlene :)

  • Thats great - I'm looking to get my hair dyed a bright copper soon, so thanks so much for this xxx

  • No problem, I'm glad it helps :)

  • Your so nice and kind, I love how you take the time to comment us all back! Thanks for letting me know about the blushes! and yes, I agree with everyone else.. You should do a tutorial on this pertictular look! Its fab xo godbless talk soon!! :)

  • Aw, thank you! No problem. I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for you guys. You're are all so lovely and supportive all the time :) xo

  • I know this is about your hair (which is fabulous btw) but I have to say that I love your voice! :)

  • Thank you, that's a very sweet compliment!

  • i have been wanting to color my hair red and i was wondering if the color washs your skin tone out a little or make you look sunburned around the cheek area

  • It really depends on your particular skin tone. I always wear foundation and even though I have a lot of redness without it, you can never tell when I'm wearing makeup. I'm really fair already, so I don't think it washes me out. Red is a warm color so it actually gives my skin a bit of warmth rather than make me look washed out. Hope this helps!

  • I adore your hair colour! I would love to take care of my mop and do something interesting with it if only I could afford it...Ha ha, Oh woe is me, right, Lol;)

  • Thank you, Siobhan! lol well I love your hair, I think the color is absolutely killer on you. You're quite the stunner ;)

  • Wow, saw your entry on MbyTiffany. Awesome! You were seriously channeling Old Hollywood (my fav glam period). Just subscribed to you. You have got skills, girl.

  • Aww, thanks so much! I really appreciate the kind words.

  • ty for the hair tutorial - your hair in the garciiababii's bitchslap contest looked amazing!! it looks like it was a bit faded or it was the other colour before you added the kick .... anyways, thanks again and take care

  • Oh Please; Where did you get your hat?? Is it hand made or do you have a brand name? :D Please please :D

  • I got it at H&M last year.

  • i totally thought you were a natural red head!! wow you pull it off amazingly, more so than a natural !!

  • Thanks so much! Such a sweet compliment!

  • Sorry to ask another question... but what do you use on your eyebrows to get it to "match" a bit more with the hair? I recently had my hair red as well... and let it fade because it was difficult to get it to look right with my dark brows eeek.

But yesss I understand your struggle.

  • I usually use Strut by MAC or an Annabelle brow pencil in Auburn!

  • Thank you muchly. :)

  • youre such a modern veronica lake!

  • Aww wow, thank you! :)

  • you can buy Ojon at ulta..or online -ebay.. one 5.07oz bottle last me 8 months..i use it a lot!... when you buy it it is suppose to look like there is oil floating on top (shake it then lightly mist the hair) here is less is more.. heat makes the ojon work better..

ojon refinishing mist . the product i use with it that works well for me is Paul Mitchel skinny serum.. they play well together lol.. shelly

  • uhhh fail rating from me:( i went to click 5 and it was on the 4. im sorry ashley! but what i was coming to say was that your color is absolutly fantastic. Its so vibrant and it looks outstanding on you!

  • My hair is red red! i wash my hair with cold water too! :) thanks for the info tho! xx

  • No problem, glad I could help :)

  • I use the same products as you lol

  • lol, That doesn't surprise me, you know! We're pretty much the same person!

  • Haha, I love that beanie. Black is so unbelievably harsh. It really screwed up my hair when we tried to take the color out. Showering in cold water is never fun, but I do the same thing when I wash it. I love your hair though, it really suits you and your persona. It always looks beautiful :)

  • Thank you, you're always so lovely! Yes, I love the mystique red hair gives, it's definitely not very common. I hate showering in cold water, but I usually just lean over the top and do my hair first, that way I'm not freezing! lol

  • Wow, you actually colour your hair once in a six weeks time and yet it stays so strong, so full... wow. WOW. WOWOWOW. I'm jealous. I'd be bald by now if I had been colouring my hair that often.

  • Thank you! Yes, if you wash it in cold water and not every day, it definitely stays a lot longer. I'm lucky because my colorist uses this specific formula and even when it fades it looks a lot nicer than most other colors!

  • I have the same problem with healthy looking hair. I don't think it looks healthy unless I'v just been to the salon (which is not that often!) and I can never get it to go shiny. The ligher it is, the less it shines i think

  • I know, it's such a pain. I really should buy everything they use in my hair at the salon, but I would probably go broke! lol

  • lol yup me too. In a few years when i'm not to stressed about money.... actualy I probably still wont be able to aford it lol

  • Hi Ashley you look amazing No matter what color you have but you do look amazing in Red I love you girly ! ooxoxoo Melinda @~~>~~

  • Thanks so much, Melinda! you're very sweet! Love you too!

  • i have naturally black hair, luckily i have a friend who knows how to dye hair and she did it for me but i had to bleach and dye it to get to the red copper color i had, i dyed it back to black after a year because it fades so fast, i do miss it though :o( i will go back to it soon! thanks for sharing darling :o)

  • No problem! :) Yes, it can be a pain, especially since black and red are my two favorite colors I've been. That is why I'm not so quick to go back! lol

  • i color my own red also...(I'm hair dresser) --clairol makes wonderful soy based reds you can buy at Sally's beauty---you can easily color your own, once you get your formula worked out..(the colors are true to the box shade) red fade so fast. I have found that ojon refinishing mist really helps the hair,, it makes it feel silk like (mine with out ojon looks like wavy died red straw.)lol ....your reds suits you perfectly!!! gorgeous x shelly

  • Thanks so much! I wish I had the time or patience to do my own lol I really like the relaxing experience of the salon, so I don't mind shelling out money for it. I should check that refinishing mist out! Where can you buy it?

  • Thank-You so much for answering my questions!

I definitely think you should keep the red hair.

You are gorgeous darling....simply gorgeous! ;)

Can't wait for more videos...you are my new fave here on YT. <3

  • Thank you so much, glad I could help you out :)

  • I love this shampoo & conditoner too ;)

    Your hair is fab !

  • Thanks so much! xo

  • You are absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing your hair tips! I love your brow color, it matches your hair so well, what did you use?

  • Thank you, I appreciate the kind words! I used my Annabelle brow pencil here in Auburn.

  • Dear god, woman!! You have to be one of the most gorgeous women I have ever seen!!

And yes, can you please tell us what makeup you are wearing in this video? You look stunning!!

  • Aww, thank you. You're very sweet! I'm doing a tutorial on it very soon and I will list all the products there :)

  • what lipstick are you wearing ?????????????

  • I'm wearing a MAC lipstick in Marquise'D and a L'oreal Color Juice lip gloss in Strawberry Smoothie.

  • I was just wondering what brand of heat protectant you use; I have naturally curly/frizzy hair and blow dry and flat iron my hair almost daily. I have yet to find a heat protectant that I love now that I can no longer find the Rusk STR8 spray I used to use. It was amazing. It kept my hair amazingly healthy and shiny and I am totally bummed I can't find it. Needless to say, my search continues for a great heat protectant! Thanks! :)

  • I usually use a spray by Schwarzkopf called Got2B Guardian Angel 425F Heat Protect n' Blow Dry. I found it at my local drug store for pretty cheap. It smells awesome and there are two other ones - one for straightening and one for curling irons! Hope this helps.

  • whats brand & color of ur lipstick ?

  • I'm wearing a MAC lipstick in Marquise'D and a L'oreal Color Juice lip gloss in Strawberry Smoothie.

  • What's on your lips here? So pretty!

  • Thank you! I'm wearing Marquise'D lipstick from MAC and L'oreal Color Juice lip gloss in Strawberry Smoothie!

  • please do a tutorial on your eye make up for this look, or could u tell me what you're wearing? so gorgeous :)

  • Thank you! I am actually planning on doing this tutorial soon. It's based off of the makeup Scarlett Johansson is wearing on the cover of Vogue! :)

  • I think it may honestly be the nicest red I've seen on anyone. Really suits you.

  • Wow, thank you doll. That's very nice of you to say :)

  • I was wondering what you use on your eyebrows since they look like they match very well with your hair (my biggest challenge as a faux redhead is making my blond brows look natural)? I saw in some of your other videos that you used MAC Strut, did you find it too dark? Thanks!

  • Thank you! I usually switch between Strut from MAC and an Annabelle brow pencil in Auburn. Depending on my funds at the time, I go for the Annabelle pencil when I want something cheaper, but as long as it's sharpened well, it works great. I also think there is a Rimmel one as well. I can't remember the name, but it should be the only auburn/chestnut color they have! Strut isn't too dark for me, it really depends on how harshly you apply it and what color of red your hair is!

  • Your So Pretty! I have naturally dark brown hair, died it like a light brown and then added four months of blonde highlights into it so now its like a dirty blonde. Im wanting to go one solid color gonna wait two or three months though cause of the chemicals and Im thinking of going your copper red! Or a Copper blonde because your hair is so beautiful! I love it and You look absolutely stunning in this video! I have a question for you & its not hair related more makeup. what blush do you use?

  • Thank you doll :) I think it would be much easier for you to go red now that you have blond in your hair. You're right to wait though, sometimes it gives your hair a chance to bounce back after all the damage you can inflict on it after you dye it. In this video I'm wearing my Rimmel bronzer in Sun Love 002 and the blush on top is Peachtwist by MAC. My highlight color is my Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle from MAC as well!

  • I am madly in love with that hat. I know it sounds silly, but I have been looking for a hat like that for years! Thanks for the hair tips.

  • Thank you! I think I got it from H&M last year! :)

  • Your hat is adorable!! I love your hair, I thought it was natural =) I dyed my hair red once and I loved it...but it only lasted a week before it turned light pink!! And this was permanent salon hair dye and a red protein color enhancer was used as well, I even bought the John Frieda shampoo and conditioner for red hair...I was pissed! I guess my hair was too damaged and too light at the time =(

  • Thank you so much, sweetie! I wish it was natural, a lot of people think it is. Honestly, you would look gorgeous with red hair. I've been going to this particular salon since I was 14, so I trust them. You should give it another shot sometime!

  • Amen sister!!! lol As a fellow faux red head, I feel your pain. xD CONSTANTLY having to redye it and everything. Although, i'm a natural dirty blonde. So, my hair turns BRIGHT vivid red fairly quickly.

To me, having bleach blonde hair was even more of a pain. Because it was so easy to see the roots.

Personally, I dye my own hair. Do you ever do your own?

    -Josef

  • I know, it can be so irritating at times to maintain it, but the color is so beautiful that I put up with it. I've never dyed my own hair once and I don't think I will. I'm scared I would ruin it! lol

  • lol!! I mean, if you can find the dye they use, I say why not. lol

  • You really suit this colour. I couldn't picture you with black hair. I would love to go that colour of red but so can't afford it right now. Wouldn't want to chance trying it at home. I have thick hair too and have to use serum to get a nice shine. Love the hat and lippy!

    Ax

  • Thank you! :) I loved my black hair, but I needed a change and I think I like this one better! Honestly, it's way better to wait and go to a salon and then at least you know you will get the right color the first time around!

  • Exactly. A few years ago I dyed my hair black by accident (was supposed to be a dark brown), it took the hairdresser 3 hours to strip the colour out, never doing that again! I only ever do semi-permanent at home now. Your colour is very striking you must get lots of compliment on it.

    Ax

  • i lke your lipstick in this video - so pretty

  • Thank you :) It's Marquise'D lipstick by MAC with a L'oreal Color Juice lip gloss on top in Strawberry Smoothie.
