A good scripture on friendship is .h 4:29, Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful in building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. As far as friends go, I've had a hard time, because if someone is constantly tearing you down, I don't see the purpose of continuing on in such a relationship.
Love it! I had a hard time with forgiving some one a while back and knew I needed to so I got some books on forgiving and one of them was incredible!!! It is called Total Forgiveness by R.T. Kendall. It covers a lot but one of the main things is how much of a weight off it will be when I can move on. In the bible, Matthew 5:44 Jesus says,"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, This works!! God changes your heart toward them. Anyway, loved your post!!

Great advice! I can say from experience the BEST thing you can do for yourself and your friend when you're at a crossroads in your relationship is to pray and ask God for guidance and wisdom.

People will undoubtedly disappoint us at one time or another, but we shouldn't let that make us angry or bitter. We should look to God to guide us and help us deal with the situation and not just go with our first instinct. God never ceases to amaze me. :)

Hi Tiff! I have a situation:I have a friend who's getting a little agressive. Apparentely he's been agressive his entire life, but he's good conceiling, and I didn't know till now. He's not agressive towards me, but he is with other people like his family and girlfriends. He clearly needs help, but since I'm suppose to be "unaware" of his behaviour, I don't know what to do without exposing the people who told me about it (his ex-girl and his sister). I'm nervous he might get agressive to me soon

@Rachycakes59 Ouch, that IS a hurtful situation. I hope you take that hurt and disappointment and give it over to God--get free of it by giving it to him. That way it can't fester and cause you to suffer needlessly from it. I pray that your friendship is restored and you are able to show God's love to her or him, even though they have wronged you. That's the hardest thing to do!

I agree with this but what about the people that continually hurt you and enjoy it? I've had a few "friends" do that and I got to my breaking point and cut them out completely. I realized I didn't deserve it and I'm happier.
@unbellevie3 There is a point that sometimes a person is very unhealthy and not good for us to be around, and the best thing we can do is pray for them from a distance. What I'm referring to is regular friendships that have ups and downs--and not letting the little issues ruin the whole relationship.
