either way, i dont understand the logic behind hardware cenzoring blood and the hit direction marking (making the game kinda broken), i mean, how does the hardware know what to do? and knowing japan (child porn videogames and other sick shit that's sometimes even illegal to import to US) this is kinda surprising too

It's not nessecarily "censoring" the game. For some games, all versions of the game are on the disc. Your hardware determines which version of the game is loaded. Resistance is another game. Try playing the Us version on a Japanese system and the blood will be removed. The way around that is to have a Us save file.

Unlike in the past, violent content in Japanese games is much more loked down upon. With the advent of the CERO ratings, many games are toned down for Japan.

Especially when concerning violence to Humans. Decapitations and the like are generally removed from games these days. Take a look at Resident Evil/BioHazard. It started out being censored in the Us, but now the Japanese versions get censored.

As for why you had blood without the update, I cannot say. Are you sure you have a Japanese system and not an Asian system? The game is only missing blood on the Japanese hardware.

Well, at least GTA4 and Call of Duty 4 didn't get censored in Japan. they left it uncut, but this is odd for Sony to censor this game in Japan. I think I recalled Japan has a lot of violent media like anime, manga, and video game. So why censor this if Japan makes a lot of violent stuff.

all this thing is really stupid...call of duty 4 in Japan is rated CERO C (15+) like uncharted but it has blood everytime you shoot somebody (and it is a war game where the USA invade the middle east...).Also any other game that has blood (like Conan) don't have the jap console system censorship shit.what the fuck!

Just so you know PS3's are region free which is why we can play worldwide on games like Resistance.

From what I've heard(though it is unconfirmed), the game is not cut when played on an Asian/Hong Kong PS3. As for how to tell which you have, the easiest way to tell would be DVD region I'd guess. Japan uses Region 2 and I *believe* the Asian system uses Region 3. I could be wrong though.

I can't say as I only own a Japanese PS3. The region of disc does not matter it is your hardware that would determine blood and apparently language choice. You best bet is to ask around at German specific gaming forums. Good luck!

I don't convince you? I'm not trying to convince anyone. Do a little research and you'll see this is a well documented issue. As to why there is blood in Assassin's Creed and not here, ask Naughty Dog. Naughty Dog programmed the game to remove blood when it detects you are playing on Japanese hardware(Likely to comply with CERO). Simple as that. The same thing happens with Resistance Fall of Man and Rachet And Clank Future is also supposedly altered when played on Japanese hardware.

And you have a Japanese region PS3? In other words a PS3 that plays Japanese PSone and PS2 games and Region 2 DVDs. Everyone I've talked to with a Japanese System has had no blood and a lack of language choices.

Again, the region of the game or demo does not matter. It is the region of the hardware that determines if you see blood or not. By region I do not mean origin of manufacture but where the system was intended to be used/sold.

Are you sure it is Japanese and not Asian? What reason would I have to lie? There has been reports of this issue before I even made this video, in fact it is what spurred me to create it. I only put this video up to show others they were not alone.

Have you played Resistance? Was there blood? If so, and you weren't using a US save file, then I question that you truly own a Japanese PS3. Resistance is widely known to be blood free when played on Japanese hardware.

To be clear though, you have a Japanese 20GB PS3. Which firmware are you running? Did you play Resistance and if so did you have blood? In the language section of Uncharted, which languages can you choose from?

If there is some way to enable blood in Uncharted I, and at least a few others, would like to know. I don't know why you are intent on proving me wrong. This is an issue that at least a few Japanese PS3 owners have. You are the first to have blood on a JP Ps3. Any info is appreciated.
