I have the Cowon S9. It fails massively when it comes to user interface and app support compared to the iPod Touch.

Everything else, I think the Cowon has the edge. Specially sound quality.

Shame on those who use this device with crappy earphones.

@pwned2ice I dont think it was intended to have app support or directly compete with the ipod. Oh and not to forget unlike most of the touch players, they have 1 up'd everyone by adding buttons!... (yes i know what activator does ;) ) btw how is the on screen keyboard, i require note taking on these at times.

The keyboard is adequate for note taking, and I'm being generous.

FYI my COWON is now connected to a HA-INFO NG98 AMP powering a pair of Denon AH-D2000 cans. :)))

indeed, the iTouch's interface is a bit more polished and snappy.

However, if it comes to sound quality, battery lifetime, features, functionality, capacity, customization options and price, the cowon wins.

Lots of ppl fall for apple's marking machinery (which is brilliant, i have to admit) and assume, apple delivers only state of the art, which is not always the case.

Yes, the apps for the iPod are quite nice, and so is the wifi.

The S9 makes up for the games with flash apps, although they might not be as nice as what the iPod touch has to offer in that category.

But getting back to Media player basics, the S9 supports a plethera of media formats, and has incredible sound quality, and picture clarity with a customizable EQ, Mach3 Bass, the list goes on..

And also.. come on, it's Cowon, it just can't be beat in quality.

I agree about the media stuff, but i think it really dippends on what your looking for in the product. They both have there ups and downs, but i just prefer apple brands, because of there slim desins
