  • Why does a supposed straight guy like Henry mostly date know Lesbo's? Atleast guys like Cruise/ Dicaprio/Oprah and Tom Brady have the gull to hire Beards. Henry's ego is so large he throws it in front of our faces and then calls us names when we call him out. I believe it was one of the Johnny Knoxville guys who got drunk and said that Henry was a little light in the loafers. lol

  • I have no beef with henry rollins commenting on the album, but they edit it so that he basically doesnt get to say anything. He mentions that its a classic and lists some of the musicians on it...why even bother having him on there then?

  • I wonder why Mr Clarke comments the word 'Jazz' with a quotation mark gesture at 2:13.

  • Damn, that cat Cobb just oozes cool, don't he?

  • Don't shout!!!

  • Miles for life!!!

  • @1Heretic

agreed. Henry Rollins has been seen video taped walking through the streets of Jerusalem(or Israel) trying to play if off that he is the Jewish supporter(why didn't you do this when you were younger Mr. Rollins?- Is it because your career is done?). By doing this, he has totally sold out to ZOG thinking they are dumb enough into believing he actually cares about the Jewish cause. He is a fucking Phoney people and real Jews can smell the B.S a mile away. ZOG 100 -Henry Rollins 00Loser

  • @boazmoss lolz

  • @boazmoss

No. The guy is a known phony. He once went against Howard Stern thinking he was some kind of voice. Howard let his ego think he was really someone but behind the scenes, This guy is a joke.

  • @BENCHIPED What the fuck is this? Is the crack so bad were you live that you post this? I feel bad for you. I have better crack for you. Ring me and find out how good this crack is that I can get for you. You will love me.

  • @WISEBL00D

Just a truth seeker bro. That is all. If Rollins was a jew I would give him a pass because they run everything. But the fact that he isn't, means that he needs to be called out so others can move forward. Get my drift.

  • Everlasting

  • look, kids, it's like this, Don't be a snob for a minute. Henry likes authenticity, be it writing, music, whatever. He is one of the rare individuals whose bullshit detector is never turned off. He digs good music, no matter what the genre. Hendrix, Miles, Slayer...he is not a snob.

  • and what about greats of others countries... like neils hennings orsted pedersen !!! i think miles without coltrane cannonbal and bill this record might be different and not so awesome !!! this album is so great for the combination of musician, not just for miles

  • He just wants you to believe he is into this music...Email him and tell you how he is influenced by Miles in Rollin's music...Bottom line is it doesn't exist...Rollins just thinks its cool to say he is into Mile's music...If Rollins and Miles were living at the same time (during the same era) Rollins would rip into Mile's like he does most other musicians...Rollins is a phony mean mugging wanna be musician who was only cool during his Black flag days when kids really didn't know what cool was

  • @BENCHIPED-You couldn't be more incorrect.

  • @BENCHIPED

Totally agreeing with you. Also why does ArtisanNewsService care about this? Douchebags like them shouldn't be involved in jazz at all.

  • @BENCHIPED totally agree with you!

  • @boogster123321 What did Rollins say that was so amazing, miles put out a lot of records??? Omg news flash TY ROLLINS FOR POINTING THAT OUT!!!!! I really think Rollin's is a no talent thats just wanting to feel like his opion means something. Oh yea i like how he says ALMOST all of them are amazing lolollol.

  • I think Miles Davis gets too much credit. Sure, he was one of the greatest, but so were Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane.

  • Ya thats why they get credit too....

  • Not really. If you go around and ask people to name 2 albums by Miles, you'll get 1 out of maybe 100 who know. In the Jazz world...he gets a lot of credit, but I've never heard of any connossieurs or dilettants ignore the other greats.

  • Agreed, but Davis was the most influential artist in developing other Jazz movements like Bebop, Modal, acid jazz, fusion and funk.

  • so what?

  • The other two get their credit. Well, Coltrane does. A LOT! Thelonious Monk a little less but he's acknowledged.

  • charlie parker??charlie christian?wes montgomary?chick corea?

  • @petar870602 You know, somebody have to be the best, and Miles is the best, ask these guys, they will tell you the same :)

  • Henry Rollins is by no means a bigot. A supporter of anti racism, human rights and gay marriage, he has been an extremely vocal opponent to Bush (a true bigot if ever there was one) Also, only musicians have credibility to talk about music? That's ridiculous. Rollins has been there and done it, if he wants to talk about Miles, I'm sure he's a damn sight more knowledgeable than you people slagging him off.

  • hell yeah, if he can appreciate miles after being in blackflag ha... what a freakin LEGEND.

  • Geez, a piece on Kind of Blue turns into an argument on Rollins credibility? FWIW, he is very knowledgeable on jazz, classical, blues etc - just cos he was in a punk band doesn't mean he doesn't understand anything more than a distorted power chord. To say he doesn't have the importance to comment on jazz because he used to be in a punk band is like saying Norman Mailer shouldn't comment on boxing because he's a writer.

  • you are so right!! I thought this piece was on Kind of Blue!! WTF!!

  • Exactly! Jazz is made for the fans, and Rollins is a Jazz fan. Just because I've been in rock bands am I not allowed an opinion on Jazz? I'm so sick of people thinking Jazz is untouchable and elitist. It's people's music. deal with it.

  • @muddy2 Fairpoint, he doesn't really say much apart from telling us who the sax players are though(!) I've seen him on TV before and he just came across (to me) as a massively pretentious twat.

  • Henry Rollins a Miles Davis fan!

  • Oh, not true, not true. I've met Rollins in person and seen him speak twice. He's an incredibly warm and compassionate individual.

  • The dude never stops working. He's got cred out the ass even if he's not making music.

  • Link something proving his bigotry, other than in your, my honest guess, rather subjective eyes, and then, I suggest, get into spoken word, instead of speaking out of what seems to be ill placed ignorance.

  • Can you please link me to evidence of him being a bigot? If not, shut up making idiotic claims just because you think "he's a sellout, maaaaan!" alot of people like myself and JoyGrenade happen to like what he does and respect the guy alot.
