I now own my third 2002 Aztek. These IIHS crash tests may be fine and dandy but they are NOT real life. The first two were totalled...let me tell you my experience: Car 1: I-94, Portage IN - 65MPH versus a cube van. My injury - a bruise on my arm from the steering wheel air bag. Car 2: US-12, Inkster MI. Stopped at a traffic signal, rear ended by a F-250 4x4 at 45 mph. Injury - superficial bruises. I have 217,000 miles on my current one, I believe it is a crashworthy vehicle!

I have one, and I love it more and more. Especially when some friends were trying to transport a large amount of stuff and could only fold their back seats down. The back seats in this car just pop out and the back gate folds down so you can fit like full sheets of plywood or a large refrigerator in it! The car is amazing! The car is a transformer..i swear i'm waiting for it to stand up and walk!

The Pontiac Aztek was a 7.0 liter V8 short of being neat to have. Maybe GM should make it again with the LS9, AWD, and then convert the grey plastic on the body to fake chrome. Then, Bob Lutz should grab 50 Cent by the neck and say "You're gonna make every one of your fans want one, and if you don't, you'll be hearing from me."

This car is preatty safe, here is the breakdown....FIRST the energy was not transferred to the driver, the risk of injury was fairly low, the airbag deployed late which caused the chance of head injury and thats it! The rest of the body is well protected! But in the NHTSA crash test they said the airbag dident deploy late, so go figure, it might have been faulty. The side crash test on the Aztek got 5 stars for driver, 3 for rear occupant! It comes standard with combo SABs in 2001-02.

OMG, I love it when people give information when its false. #1 its pontiac AZTE"K" not with a c. #2 it does not have ideas borrowed from the h2. the aztek came out in 2001, H2 2003. So???? yea. Pontiac doesn't even make sence sometimes. for instance, a Aztek Rally?!?! I have one I love it but the aztek was made because 85% of suv never see off road so they made an on road suv/crossover. Rally is off road racing. Rally cars dont have big rims so why would the rally edition come with bigger rims??
