I wondered how you did this using XAMPP? I tried creating one from phpMyAdmin but it doesn't appear to work in the same way that is being demonstrated in this tutorial. I would be very grateful if someone could direct me to a demonstration that deals with this, or otherwise tell me what I'm doing wrong.

If you want to do all this offline, you can either use a program called XAMPP or WAMP, the latter is easier and I personally use it.

well , what can I say , u make good tutorials , but this one, not good , teach us how to creat it in phpmyadmin, like the local one, we all know developing is done on our local machine , than on the test machine we will prob have something like what you did.I don't see how people will go and buy a domain just for the sake of learning some things.

a total easier way to do this is to download mySql query browser and connect it to phpmyadmin, so u can just create new Schemes and tables and it will change on your phpmyadmin site as well. We use it in our class. Good job Bucky as always

LOL phpMyAdmin + MySql = easily hackable. You can't code a whole site in php idiots. You have to use some html and don't use MySql either. Fuck I just ruined a few sites I could've owned lol

MySQL is not changing your database name or your user name. That is your web host doing that. It keeps you from having a duplicate issue on a public hosted system. The first section is part of your account. Wonderful Tutorials, look forward to more of them.
