unfortunatly yes :( but Uygurs are a different ethnic group, it is completly different from the Chinese culture and their ethnicity.

Uygurs are Turkic, like i said completely different:) The land was under control of China since 1953. So before 1953, that part of the land was called Eastern Turkistan and in our heart its still called Eastern Turkistan, one day in God's will it will be called Eastern Turkistan!
