the old ML's are pieces of work. seriously! My mom owns one so i know wat i'm talking about! That terrain was not fucked up as is seemed! an xterra or jeep would done this without burning rubber! Well im in my second ML, went from a 99 ML320 to an 05 ML500 (I like it better :)) as far as snow? adequate weight, ESP and AWD... Just make sure that if its nice and icey to use your low range!
i plan on doing the same as you with the whole upgrade to 05 but im going to use this up then get a newer model but i love the sound system that came with mine its great whoever my dad bought this car off of made it really good
What are you talking about? I own a 320 and a 500. They are AWD w/ selective differential. Maybe YOU should get to know your vehicle a little better before you go running your suck.
it has alot of weight and very wide rims giving it alot of contact with the ground it basically gets good grip in the snow compared to other suv's or any other vehicles at that mercedes in general are good in the snow
I own one and i can get it to slip but thats besides the point u can get any car to slide in snow every car has its limits.
in all the winters i have been through i have not yet once had to manually put it into 4x4 the weight distribution is so good the rear wheels never lose grip
If anybody has done this trail in 2008 going up the back side(side closest to 7-up) IT is difficult I broke my Warn premnium hub and a cv axle trying to get up it. I drive a 2000 xterra with 33's and 6" total of lift with my suspension completely flexed out. It was also at night with no spotter which was my fault. Anyways it is a hard trail this year and that guy did a decent job making it up with the help of the spotter.
Um wtf are you talking about???? ML's are created in part for off roading. The car can pull itself up a 30 degree incline with ONE WHEEL. This was at commercial shown by Mercedes to sell the call in dealerships before I bought one.
If you take this car, and put some off road tires on it, it can off road very well. If you dont have an ML you should not talk crap about the car.

there's no lockers in crossover vehicles like this, as with Audo Q7, BMW X5. They are all crap. when one wheel slips all power floods to it. This is also one of the worst cars out there. I'm also not surprised he bought a H2 and equally bad truck. 8600lbs, solid rear axel like a school bus, 320hp from a 6.8ltr engine. it's for people who don't know any better.
solid axles are good for off roading tard and locker are best but those high end vehicles have esp and traction control...when a wheel loses traction the brakes are applied to that wheel, hence transfering power to the wheels with traction

Just bought a 2001 ML320 not because of it's off road ability BUT because it seats 7 passengers like the Durango but gets 17mpg and not 10mpg like my 2000 Durango SLT.
If Hummer came with 7 seats then I would have been a customer but they are seriously overrated.

I drive a 2000 xterra with 33's and 6" total of lift with my suspension completely flexed out. It was also at night with no spotter which was my fault. Anyways it is a hard trail this year and that guy did a decent job making it up with the help of the spotter.

Um wtf are you talking about???? ML's are created in part for off roading. The car can pull itself up a 30 degree incline with ONE WHEEL. This was at commercial shown by Mercedes to sell the call in dealerships before I bought one.
If you take this car, and put some off road tires on it, it can off road very well. If you dont have an ML you should not talk crap about the car.

there's no lockers in crossover vehicles like this, as with Audo Q7, BMW X5. They are all crap. when one wheel slips all power floods to it. This is also one of the worst cars out there. I'm also not surprised he bought a H2 and equally bad truck. 8600lbs, solid rear axel like a school bus, 320hp from a 6.8ltr engine. it's for people who don't know any better.

solid axles are good for off roading tard and locker are best but those high end vehicles have esp and traction control...when a wheel loses traction the brakes are applied to that wheel, hence transfering power to the wheels with traction

Just bought a 2001 ML320 not because of it's off road ability BUT because it seats 7 passengers like the Durango but gets 17mpg and not 10mpg like my 2000 Durango SLT.
If Hummer came with 7 seats then I would have been a customer but they are seriously overrated.
Nice vid though. Surprised the ML actually made it up the hill!
