It's a shame. My favorite dreampop (or whatever genre you want to call it) artists are jeesh, dainumo, remix luke, d!tto and pogo. But none of them have yet to make a secret of nimh remix. Maybe one day.
I love Pogo -- but this one makes me indescribably happy. I just keep listening to it! I tried to DL it at your sound cloud, but it appears to be past its DL limit. :(
What a wonderful songs. I heard you were not dabbling in music anymore. That's such a shame. You're music is so lovely. It's not Pogo. It is set apart from his music in it's own way.
It's not true that I stopped making music, I'm just setting the whole "remix" thing aside for a while. Im concentrating on my piano at the moment (uploads soon) and still love to make a chiptune.
@RemixLuke Anychance you can upload the extended version ? The track at souncloud already reach it's download limit and I came too late to download it.
This Pogo thing is new to me. I've listened to great drum and bass, and to great trance-dance groups like Underworld, and I dig it all, but you and other uploaders like dianumo seem to outdo Pogo themselves. Your video is hypnotic, trance -bliss! The editing is great and the tune is catchy! Altered state perspectives on classic movies...wonderful!
So we were studying "My Fair Lady" today at uni, and this was the first time I've ever seen the film/musical. When we got to this part, I'm there going, *SO THIS IS THE FILM LUKE USED!!* and was totally distracted for the last 5 minutes.
Oh my god, this was amazing. I don't think our idol Pogo could have done it any better. Truly astounding! I hope to make one of these videos when I have more free time.
How is it that you and Dainumo ect. get your tracks to sound so well produced? I'm trying to work on my own and they sound so low quality, like there is no substance. I'm curious if this was a problem for you too and you overcame it or what the deal is. I'm using FL and samples ripped from a dvd in FLAC format.
@CritiquesMaster I wasnt aware that a download was ever available. This Just might be the only Pogo Tribute I've ever cared to have featured in my musical library. Now where can i download this fine piece of work?
@RemixLuke Yeah, Luke. Among all the Pogo Tributes I've seen and heard, this one stands out far beyond any of them. It's so peaceful, never gets old. You had a really good voice to work with here, I'm sure... In the beginning, i think you showed the guy standing there a bit too long. all the gray, kinda ugh. (footage wise) I'd show new footage at 0:18. I'd do that for all the choruses, though. I love the way you edited them walking. Try and see if you can sync their footsteps.
I agree, He did a wonderful job with this. It gives me such a happy feeling, it gives me the ambition to continue to desire the dream I so want to acquire. Just as all of Pogo's tracks.
How do you make these? I mean this is incredible!!!! What do you use? Please send me a message or something, its been my dream to attempt a pogo tribute.
Out of all the people attempting to capture pogo's style, you've actually nailed it RemixLuke. Even though this track isn't very complex, the production is excellent and there's definitely that 'melodic happy feeling sound' that the other pogo tributers have failed to create. Good work and I love the track.
This was stuck in my head all day at work. The vocal samples are so mesmerizing. You definitely captured the heart of Pogo's essence, especially in his earlier work.
for a simple collection of samples looped together in a short song , this is Very catchy, one of the best pogo tributes, good to see he gave you a nod on his website.
@RemixLuke "I really should work on my production skills, everything still seems so low-tech." As far as lowtech goes, it doesnt matter. I can hear the generic sounds you used into your song, but that's okay. Nobody cares. Its the talent behind the music that matters. The ideas you have. And youve got fantastic ideas, my friend. It's like handwriting; no matter what style of handwriting you have, or the quality of it, it's the thought you put into it that counts. You can always rewrite it later.
Hmm, inspires me. I like the idea of keeping further tracks low-tech, but concentrate on chord-vocal combination. Damn I need to release a new track, but I want to try so many other things to.
Depends on what programs you prefer. First you need a wav-editor, just get Audacity, its free and works well. Just watch a movie you like on your pc and press record at the parts you want to use. As editing program I use FL Studio, its one of the easiest music sequencers in my opinion and it does the job. So get FL *ugh* *ugh* *Torrent* *ugh* Studio 9 and learn the basics. After making your track and rendering it, I edit my videos in Sony Vegas Pro 9.0. Hope this answers your q.
@RemixLuke Okay I'll try that out. Oh and if I can say something.. to help, during the end maybe you can add like a climax. Make the beats faster and louder with the original guy singing. that's kind of what Pogo does.
@RemixLuke Do you use FL Studio 9 for the bassline as well? And if not can you suggest something for me? I'm very experienced with mixing audio (using Audacity) and I want to attempt a remix like this. I've gotten the sample part down, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding something that can create a bassline like the ones Pogo uses.
@RemixLuke so basically u make the voices and some beats on audacity and Fl studio u put all of the editing in it If im correct if not plz tell what is the correct way
Yeah, probably first find some good chords to get the "feeling" of your track. Then search for words or little sounds that grab you attention and try sequencing them in a order that sounds good to you. I read your comment that you where going to make Pogo tributes to, good luck, looking forward to what youre going to make ! :)
@RemixLuke Thanks if u would like me to send u the remix that i done i will send it to u if u would like to add ur touch as well just ask and i will be happy to give it to u.
Thank you :). The first chords you hear aren't synths. It are chords that are somewhere in the movie which I entered into Slicex (FL Studio Sampler). After that, I put a low-pass filter on it on around 50% which creates this kind of dreamy effect including a reveerb.
Thank you...Yeah,it sounds a bit like one though..i was looking for that dreamy effect..Since pogo uses it in all of his songs and it makes a big part of the song : )
There is just something about the pitch of all the voices that doesn't match the background music for my ears. It does grow on you, the first play I didn't think much but, when you hear the bass and drums really working together it works really well
No, ever since I discovered Pogo I tried to do a remix now and then. Lets say 9 out of 10 didn't work or never got finished. I liked this one so I made a video for it.
