feist sounds the same in all her songs... and even more, the songs themselves are self-similar: sound same at beginning, middle, end. i dont see how she can actually fill the 2 hours of a concert.
dude, you havent seen her RECENTLY at CMW because she hasn't played it in like three years at least.
if you'd seen her live, you'd know there is in fact "much to it." she's brilliant, and its more than marketing that has seen her winning awards and gaining fans.
You REALLY dont know what you are talking about. you cant think of them yet because there are none. she has her own voice and no one elses. oh and MrHippie, you are right, except for the last scentence, that was very mean but i get where u are coming from. As i was saying, never compare her to anyone cuz as u can see an angry mob will be outside your house in no time. So Feist has been out longer than the ipod so dont give ipod the credit, Leslie probly gave them the Idea. YAY for Leslie Feist!
Not really, they both cut their breath short in the middle of a word, but their actual voices and musical style are vastly different. Feist is more sultry quirky, kinda like Charlotte Gainsbourg meets Sinead O'Connor, whereas Bjork is cheerful quirky, and Bjork is more unique as an artist. I like feist, but the most recent crop of female solo artists seem to blur into one another. Lily Allen--->Feist--->K.T. Tunstall (sp?)--->Amy Winehouse, see how their styles could transition into each other?
Feist is not successful because of her ipod commercial! Anyone who liked her for the ipod commercial has most likely forgotten about her already. have you even heard of Broken Social Scene, where she got her start in music? yeah, she's been around a lot longer then you think.
i agree...though I still think the reminder is great. and I must say, I didn't know feist before the iPod commercial, but I'm definitely glad she did it. i bought all her albums, and some broken social scene ones also, and have fallen in love with her mellow tones and the talented instrumentals in both acts. Canada has really been turning out the hit makers.
No, this woman truly understands melody. Not just a powerful voice, she has that rare musical talent to back it up. I know it may be hard for you to recognize since someone of this caliber doesn't come around all that often but trust me: she's the real deal.
Feist is so cute! it's nice to see a female artist (minus country) have fun on stage instead of doing a choreographed dance. I LOVE this song way to much! can't stop setting it to replay.
I have to agree with rhody76, she really seems to put herself into the performance. I have noticed this in all her live video's. I hope she never loses that trait through burn-out. Her back up musicians are excellent and well suited to her style.

@seeair "Canada." I love how they didn't expect that. Feist and the rest of the Broken Social Scene troupe make me proud to be Canadian.

I agree, I personally think let it die is better than the reminder, and that record was not ihyped.
