You have to understand that the feeling of having a mental gender identity not lining up with the one of the body (the physical gender identity) can be extremely strong.

Gender-kids can sense more than anything there is something horribly wrong with the body they are born in.

May I ask, what you, based on your beliefs, consider "less than feminine" behavior?

Dumbduck, you need to realize that gender identity and sexual orientation are too totally different and seperate issues, and a psychiatrist can quickly identify the differences between someone that is gay and someone who is trans.

And btw, gender identity can also be shaped in large part by the child's environment. We know this as there is statistically unusually large part of the male homosexual community that was sexually abused as a child, so clearly for a percentage it can even shape their sexuality.

Likewise, the real reason that men are macho and women are femme is because of gender roles we have in western society, where girls are given barbies and boys are given GI Joes.  A father can "man up" his boy.

@DumbDuck44: I'm not sure if I'm getting your point, but, parents are not putting pressure on their kids to alter their bodies (which is not possible up untill the age of 16, at least here in the Netherlands that is).

They are trying to make their child feel comfortable in the live it tries to life the happy way and if that means that his parents accept that their child dress as the opposite sex there is no pressure going on.

Genderkids sometimes know, more than anything that something is wrong.

@Dutch3DMaster The point is simple, children need guidance, and there are absolutely some women that wish they had a child of the opposite gender and take that to the extreme of feminizing their boys and visa versa, and to act like nurture doesn't play a huge role in development is a dangerous lie. Take homosexuality for example, and notice the percentage that were sexually abused. Some of that is nature, and if that is the case they will know at sexual maturity and can make their own choice.

I don't think sexual abuse has anything to do with becoming gay, I think there is just as a big percentage straight people that are abused. The abuse maybe awakens the boys thoughts on sexual preferences earlier on.

All homosexuality is not the result of sexual abuse, but many cases are, because like many things in life either nurture or nature can play a role. Stop "thinking" about statistics, and actually look them up, and you'll see that child sexual abuse and homosexuality is VERY disproportionate.

This is about kids born with a brain that's wired opposite to their physical gender.

If a boy IS feminized while it has no gender-identity disorder what so ever there is a big chance he will probably start to reject the feminizing when puberty starts.

About statistics, I actually looked them up and they are disproportionate, which I was not denying.

You sometimes hear that kids that later come out as being gay have something flamboyant about the, causing child molesters to easily notice them because they are different.

Here's what I question though, these kids seem young to be diagnosed with gender dysphoria.
