hey J,,10x 4 all your info that ure gavin us,,its realy helpfull....right now i'm thinkin of buying a pair of new turntables,,,& i'm confused of what type of cartridge shud i choose.... & does make any difference from one to an other???
yeh they are from htfr. same price right? yeh well before them i had the ones shown in the video i do like the concorde style and how they scratch when properly weighted they never skip. but then again i havnt had any trouble with the se30s yet either. its hard to know for sure. but a mate of mine is buying the diablos sometime next week i'll let u kno how they are if u can wait that long lol what music do you mix?
in addition to all the peices seen in your video i have 2 little plastic washers, im not 100% on what ther for (obviously the screws) but i wondered if the washers are necessary?
hay I have uncover a record player from the late 70's early 80's and everything works great except I broke the needle and don't know what to do. and it used to be my parents so what do I do?
Hey, I have Shure M447's with Serato. Recently, I've had some major problems in setting up. The needle doesn't seem to be gliding properly, even after fiddling with the antiskate. Also, how do you take the needle off, as you mentioned earlier in your vid? Thanks
I just bought a used 1200mk2, im following your tutorials, very informative.
question, the turntable came with a stanton discmaster cartrige, no stylus....
i dont think this cartrige is in production anymore..where can i get a stylus for it? will any stylus work? i want the most affodable one i can get just so i can practice with here in my living room.
a lot of people have different ways of mounting a cartridge on a headshell...diefferent positions, angles and so on..that's why they're not mounting it normally
is there any models made for any specific models, or can you use any needle/stylus for any record player? Becuase im getting one for a Technics Sl-Q212
You are really something, helping us with this, and seeing how it is done correctly, I have had issues with fitting the small metal connectors to the cartridge, because two of the wires came off the metal connectors, there so small to solder back on. Thanks.
i've just recently started back with a turntable and my records and was feeling a bit overwhelmed with trying to figure all of this out on my own. thanks for this tutorial.
Sometimes if the clips are a loose fit on the pins, you need to squeeze them slightly with needle nose pliers. It helps if you stick a toothpick in the end of the clip so you don't crush it completely.
And sorry to be so pedantic, but styli is the plural, and stylus is singular. One stylus, two styli.
How sensetive are the little wires and tips? Cause i saw you putting a bit of presure with your screw-driver just to get them in the right place. And could all that fiddleing damage these items?
Hi Johnathan the item your on about and you illustrated in a previous video...The Technics SL 1200/10 Stylus Alignment Tool. Ive had a search around for you is available at Hard To Find Records at £6.95.....
I think it may have been fiddly.

they sell Shure m447's mounted on Technics Headshells.
rather overpriced, though
When I mount mine I mount the cartridge first and then wire them up so i dont put any strain on the wires

its really based on the type of action you perform. (Club DJ, Turntablist, Audiophile, etc.)
FOr example, any turntablist would recommend Shure M447
or M44G, whereas a club dj might prefer Ortfons
