  • I love you Brits... using awesome words like "knackered" and "fiddly bits".

  • mate your videos are wicked cheers and that was fidly as hell grrrr worth it though! ta (";)

  • Thanks, that straightened out my problems exactly!

  • do you have to add the headshell weight?

  • Do the mounting screws come with the headshell or with the cartridge?

  • whicky whicky wHAA(scratched) thnx

  • "now then"

  • hey J,,10x 4 all your info that ure gavin us,,its realy helpfull....right now i'm thinkin of buying a pair of new turntables,,,& i'm confused of what type of cartridge shud i choose.... & does make any difference from one to an other???

  • I HERD THAT IF YOU R PLANING ON DOING THE SCRATCH YOU NEED TO SET YOUR CARTRIGE ON SOME TYPE OF AN ANGLE?

HOW DO I WHO HOW IT WORKS BEST?

  • Thanks mate, you realise this is about the only place on THE ENTIRE F*CKING INTERNET that explains this. Much appresh.

  • yeh they are from htfr. same price right? yeh well before them i had the ones shown in the video i do like the concorde style and how they scratch when properly weighted they never skip. but then again i havnt had any trouble with the se30s yet either. its hard to know for sure. but a mate of mine is buying the diablos sometime next week i'll let u kno how they are if u can wait that long lol what music do you mix?

  • just got my new stiis.

    they're stanton se30s on a technics headshell.

in addition to all the peices seen in your video i have 2 little plastic washers, im not 100% on what ther for (obviously the screws) but i wondered if the washers are necessary?

  • hes such a good help with all of his videos , thanks ellaskins

  • Great video, thanks for sharing!!!!

  • hay I have uncover a record player from the late 70's early 80's and everything works great except I broke the needle and don't know what to do. and it used to be my parents so what do I do?

  • buy a new needle

  • I lost the piece white plastic to calibrate the needle where can I get a New one

  • great video boss, thanks very much from ireland!

  • Thanks for your help.

  • Hey, I have Shure M447's with Serato. Recently, I've had some major problems in setting up. The needle doesn't seem to be gliding properly, even after fiddling with the antiskate. Also, how do you take the needle off, as you mentioned earlier in your vid? Thanks

  • I just bought a used 1200mk2, im following your tutorials, very informative.

question, the turntable came with a stanton discmaster cartrige, no stylus....

i dont think this cartrige is in production anymore..where can i get a stylus for it? will any stylus work? i want the most affodable one i can get just so i can practice with here in my living room.

  • fuck, i wish i had seen this, i think i stripped the threads in the plastic. does anyone know where i could get new little plastic bits? cheers

  • does anyone know where i can get nuts and bolts from. for some reason my new cartridges didnt come with them!!!

  • a lot of people have different ways of mounting a cartridge on a headshell...diefferent positions, angles and so on..that's why they're not mounting it normally

  • they sell Shure m447's mounted on Technics Headshells.

    rather overpriced, though

When I mount mine I mount the cartridge first and then wire them up so i dont put any strain on the wires

  • is there any models made for any specific models, or can you use any needle/stylus for any record player? Becuase im getting one for a Technics Sl-Q212

  • its really based on the type of action you perform. (Club DJ, Turntablist, Audiophile, etc.)

FOr example, any turntablist would recommend Shure M447

or M44G, whereas a club dj might prefer Ortfons

  • ,, HAY,,,pro,,you should be useing brass nut and bolt

  • That's why there's a banana cartridges, are made for! Am i make sense?

  • damn, I wish I had seen this, I spent hours trying to attach mine, just realised i've done it wrong.

  • You are really something, helping us with this, and seeing how it is done correctly, I have had issues with fitting the small metal connectors to the cartridge, because two of the wires came off the metal connectors, there so small to solder back on. Thanks.

  • lol ive just done mine b4 i seen this n i havnt pushed the wires in all th way lol

  • It took me about 3 hours to attach my m447's to the headshells, those little parts are so hard to work with and I kept loosing them

  • i've just recently started back with a turntable and my records and was feeling a bit overwhelmed with trying to figure all of this out on my own. thanks for this tutorial.

  • thx a lot J these wires got me soo confused when i bought my first turntable you are one of the most helpful Djs i have ever seen

    thx

  • Sometimes if the clips are a loose fit on the pins, you need to squeeze them slightly with needle nose pliers. It helps if you stick a toothpick in the end of the clip so you don't crush it completely.

And sorry to be so pedantic, but styli is the plural, and stylus is singular. One stylus, two styli.

  • Hi J.

How sensetive are the little wires and tips? Cause i saw you putting a bit of presure with your screw-driver just to get them in the right place. And could all that fiddleing damage these items?

    Thanks for all!

  • Hi Jonathan, could also show how to fit in the needle?

  • Very informative video great. This is just what people need.

  • thanks for that, any idea what it's called?

  • Hi Johnathan the item your on about and you illustrated in a previous video...The Technics SL 1200/10 Stylus Alignment Tool. Ive had a search around for you is available at Hard To Find Records at £6.95.....

  • Nice one , thanks j
