  • Florda raider guy it depends on how u cook them

  • Hey, I thought you were swampwolf, not graywolf?

  • damn!

  • that must be really fine water there in

  • I've lived all over the US..and I can honestly tell you that some of the best people I've ever met in my life were from Louisiana..including my wife

  • I've never ate one...they taste like shrimp?

  • I like this dude.

  • i said the same thing DAMN!!!

  • @graywolf7171

That's my bad I meant graywolf not gaywolf haha

  • @gaywolf

that's so cool but unfortunately I have a creek that's a frikin ghost town for crayfish so that really ticked me off I used a copperhead head with that same trap thanks for the vid though

  • haha im surprised that trap didnt crawl away with all those crawdad

  • did you make that trap or did you buy it?and if you did buy it where did you buy it at?

  • nice! shame you didn't empty out the trap so we could get a good look

  • what bait did you use

  • @profisherman119 If I'm not mistaken, that was a catfish head in that particular trap. I use snakes and all sorts of fish...sometimes I'll even stuff some dry dog food in a sock, and that'll work too.

  • @graywolf7171 dog food is cray fishes crack

  • ref: Morgan City - No it's Morganza north of I-10 but I inspected pipe from about 50 miles north of there and south to Houma so I was all over the place.

  • @OkieJohn1950 oh okay, I know exactly where that is...it's about 30 miles or so north of my area.

  • Greywolf I did lots of pipeline work in that area years ago. Lots of good people and good times. Thanks for bringing back some good memories!

  • @OkieJohn1950 thnx John...there are some really great people out there, for sure.

  • Graywolf I've done lots of work around Morg

  • @OkieJohn1950 by Morg, I assume you mean Morgan City? That would be about 35 miles south (as a crow flies) from the area I haunt.

  • where you at

  • @profisherman119 In the atchafalaya...about six miles out of bayou sorrell, louisiana

  • Great video. Where abouts are you paddling? I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up so I can get out there and run some crawfish traps from my pirogue.

  • It's about six miles northwest of Bayou Sorrell, La

  • what u use for bait ?

  • what do you use for bait ?

  • fish, snakes, even dry dog food in a sock will work.

  • Getting old is better than the alternative...so, what's your point?

  • @massacreman69 dude old people are cool cause they can teach you about history and there fun hang around with. lol he said oh sh*t when hes saying boys and girls. are you talking about little kids graywolf when you say boys and girls.....

  • haha i have the same trap!

  • I ain't your "mate", you queer bastard!

  • Not that kind of mate -.-....

A lot of english people say mate or australians

  • I've been around the world a couple of times...I know when the term mate is used in a friendly way, or not. I deleted and blocked the guy, so you have no idea what he was saying.

  • Oh, Ok. My bad.

  • my trap isnt working will someone please help me or give me a hint were to put it

  • did you bait the trap?

  • yes, it had a fish in it for bait.

  • is that a minnow trap?

  • wow ur awsome

  • Nice catch.

  • Comment removed

  • Thats what the hell Im talkin bout. One man one boat, no noisy motor just paddling along not disturbing anything but a ripple. Nice catch too, I havent used those in a while because most of the time they didnt turn up anything.

  • dam

  • liked the video. I have a couple of those minnow traps, reckon I'll bust out a pair of dikes ot make the opening bigger. thank you gray wolf

  • can a crayfish survive on a drum full of water for months and not drown?

  • how long do you let the tray set?

  • A couple of hours is okay. If you're going to leave it for many hours or overnight, then you have to lea ve an edge of the trap above water so the crawfish can come up and catch a breath now and then, or they eventually drown.

  • what do you use as bait?

  • Crawfish will eat damned near anything. I believe that was either a piece of water moccassin, or fish, in that trap. I've even used dry dog food wrapped in a sock before. I'm hoping one day to be able to try out some "politician" in a crawfish trap...I bet that would be good too. Hee hee.

  • thanks

  • Hey what brand of trap is that?

  • I couldn't tell you, but I think it's actually a minnow trap. You can get 'em at Walmart. You just make the entrance a little larger so the crawfish can get in it.

  • Ha wow what a coincidence. I was at walmart today and saw a minnow trap just like the one in your video and said "This'd be good if it was cut open a bit bigger."

I plan on getting a few soon.

    Thanks!

  • That's all ya gotta do is make sure that opening is big enough for the crawfish, and off ya go.

  • Do you catch any warmouth in there? The swamps around here (that would be the lowcountry of SC), are filling up with blue gill. About fifteen years ago, I caught alot more warmouth. I don't know why though?

  • what state is this in?

  • Lowsy-ana of course. :)

  • Somebody is eating tonight!

  • holy crap

  • hey pal, where is this filmed at?

    what state?

  • Atchafalaya swamp...south Louisiana

  • wat did you use for bait

  • crawfish will eat damned near anything, but I believe that was a piece of chopped up water mocassin in that trap.

  • Nice Trapping

  • that's an idea...I may try that the next time. However, I think that's going to be a little odd. Ya never know though. Might be good.

  • ya shoulda used dem in da beans...

  • did you set the trap over night?

  • no, that particular trap had been in the water about an hour or so.

  • hey nice i have that trap but i ran it over with my 4 wheeler one summer i 4got it was in the creek i got mine at walmart for about 7 bucks i think it was

  • what kind of trap are you using?. and what state are you in?

  • i make my own traps and use wet catfood in a coffee filter and put a twisty tie on it so they cant eat it all so fast.we get about 100 a day and eat a lot of them and the ones we dont eat we freeze.they like bacon to so if you have holes tie some string around some raw bacon and stick them down their holes and if you feel them tug pull it up and grab them

  • My grandma would give us hunks of salt pork when we were kids and we'd use that to pull crawfish out of holes like you were talking about. That's fun.

  • what do you use for bait

  • I think that was chopped up water moccasin in that trap. You can use fish, meat of almost any kind, or I've even used dry dog food wrapped in a sock. Crawfish will go for just about anything.

  • nice i need one of those also, nice parking in the sticks hahahaha

  • Damn! Holy crap!

  • Nice I have a oild pirogue from like the 70s, but when i go crawfishing out of my pirogue i just drop them into it btw what size pirogue are you using?

  • It's a 12' pirogue that I built myself last year. I thought it might be too small for my heavy ass, but it turned out just fine. A pirogue from the 70's? Wow...they don't usually last more than five or six years. Mine ain't a year old yet and I already had to do some bracing up. But then it was the first one I ever built, so I was dumb. Hee hee. Thanks for the comment.

  • lol mine is slowly starting to wear away at the bottom but during the summer i brung it to the Bonnet Carre' spillway when the locks were getting opened and i paddled it like a kayak trying to stay in one spot!

  • yeah "shit" right thats a buttload of 'craws

  • what is the best time for crawfishing?

  • In the swamp, the best crawfishing is from Feb to June or so. But, nowadays they have those crawfish "farms" that seem to go almost year around.

  • thats awesome! lots and lots of crawfish lol.

  • how did the other two traps do?

  • All of them did great. I ate boiled crawfish every day while I was out there. The traps would fill with crawfish within a couple of hrs and all the bait would be eaten. It was the best year in quite sometime for crawfishing out there. The commercial crawfishermen did real well too.

  • what were you using for bait? please tell me!!!!

  • In this case, I believe that was a piece of water moccassin, but fish'll do fine. Even dog food stuffed into a sock will work.

  • nice
