  • Was Dirk there

  • 2010 was my first year doing candlelight and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The songs are not difficult(besides this one) and the only thing that sucks about it is it is freezing outside and you cannot move! Haha but it was a fun experience(:

  • to all the youngins doing this, I envy you lol. It is a very wonderful experience as long as you follow the rules( wich aren't much anyway) remember you ARE a performer and even if you're in the back and you THINK they can't see you or really hear you you're WRONG. If you breath too hard they will know cause of the lil hanging mics over your head and in the dark, don't even think of movin cause you're glowin like a fuckin fairy with the candle and sequences on they collar lol.

  • You're usually stiff after you walk off and you know you smiled big enough if your face hurts when you finally try to relax. Just pray you get John Sinclare as your conductor (I swear you'll finish the show in like 40mins ) and you'll be a happy camper lol. Good luck to all of you and enjoy! ONLY DRINK WATER! power aid will give you a high and either make you puke or pass out with the combination of the crash and the heat and the cranberry juice will make you wanna pee like a mofo. HAVE FUN!

  • God, I miss that day. Boone, erryone.

  • I performed in this this year! It. Was. AMAZING!

  • My school has gone all 7 or 8 years we've auditioned. My last 3 years in High school I performed this show. Each time it's an amazing feeling. And now that I"m graduated, they made the rule where no alumni are allowed to join you....it really bums me out :(

  • @Gameorama91 i was really upset too. I'm an SHS alumni.

  • My chorus is preforming this year and since im a Bass 2 this is pretty tricky

  • im doing it this year xD i soooo want to be the star at the top of the tree!! lmaoo

  • Wet your wrong i went 2 years straight this year and last year

  • I myself am a first soprano..and we will be singing at the Candlelight Processional December 30th, 2009 we leave to go in 25 days!! :) I can bot wait... what is it like?? Are they strict and mean ??

  • it's so awesome. besides your feet hurting the whole time its an amazing experience and no they are not mean or strict they are actually very nice

  • Oh, your arms hurt a little after from holding the candle.

  • @Musicalblond It's a lot of fun, just don't talk while in rehersal, also bring food, cause the food that they have it not that great, and you must eat!!!

Other then that have fun (Oh and make sure that you wear what they tell you to wear)

  • @OnePieceAnimefan I actually kinda liked the lil stale sandwich lol

  • they are super strict about what u wear, but they are quite nice to you and stuff. On stage though, you can't like fidget, talk or anything because then the Disney "Ninjas" will sneek on stage when its dark and pull you off. And if your teacher hears this on the intercome before of after the performance "Will Mr. (your teachers name) please report to the Candy Cane" he will NOT be happy!! i was there on the 14th from Tarpon High! Don't worry though, itll be sooo much fun :)

  • @Musicalblond ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

  • I sang yesterday.

During my show 4 kids got escorted, none of them were from my school so im not sure why.

They are strict to a limit. They true to make the show perfect, yet they still want you to have fun. After all it's Disney.

They don't like you to misbehave (but that doesn't just go for candlelight, it applies for every performance), and it's very important to know the words.

    Its an awesome experience

  • I was in this one!! i was a soprano 1...it was great! It was hot as hell up there but fun.

  • my chorus is going this year. We've been practicing like crazy. OMG I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!! :)

  • I did this in 83, 84 and 85. I will never forget it.

  • not possible since the rules for being the in the processional prevent schools from returning consecutive years

  • @wetwater2001 What are you talking about? I went every year.

  • my school has been in the honor choir for candlelight for the past 35 years

  • my school has gone 6yrs in a row and this is our 7th year in a row...

  • OMG

    I went this last time.

Hallelujah is sooo much fun, but it is SO hard when you are burning up on that stage xD

  • are you allowed to do candlelight in college?

  • aww i went for 3 years in h.s i miss this too!

  • Gah, I miss doing this. ;____;

  • just wondering, why do people always stand when we do this song?

  • when Handel performed this for king George II, he was so moved that he stood up, whenever the monarch stands, everyone stands, it has remained a tradition ever since.

  • well that's just the coolest thing ever...whoot! lol thanx for the reply :)

  • Sweet - i am in this video!

  • my school is an honor choir this year...they've been honor choirs for a while now...im going on 4 different dates...its my first year going to candlelight..since im a freshmen

  • haha, i was there on the twenty ninth.

    what time was your show?

  • I'm gonna go there on November 26th to perform around 5:00 my director tells us. Englewood High School. Ahaha..

  • i was there at that show =]

    i went with timber creek!

  • Really?! djfhsdjh fs I meant two that was with Timber Creek.. Gahh.. all I remember is I met a blonde one that was next to me in the Alto 2 section for the first time we rehearsed before the robes and another time was the line up with a dark haired girl.

  • Haha were they freshmen?

If they were I probably know them :)

  • One said she was a freshman. I think the other one said to me she was either a sophomore or junior. I'ma message you on your profile =]

  • that was amazinggg !

Really hot up there though !

  • i performed the night before this. we were by far the best looking choir there...

  • u all wore the same thing so how could you be the best lookin choir there doesnt make sense

  • ASTRONAUT HIGH MADE HONOR CHORUSES GO AHS!!!!!we got to meet mauren mcgovern

  • ahh! its the guy in the wheelchair! i see that guy! i was standing about two people away from him because im a soprano 1, and he's a tenor and he kept messing me up =[

  • Join the club, my sis and I both sing soprano. Had to go up to a high A! Did we meet you by chance?

  • i almost got sick during this song. those high notes killed me!! GO TARPON SPRINGS SPONGERS!!!

  • It's probably Derrick Johnson as conductor. He rocked.

  • i performed in that! heck yeah base 2!! NCHS? n e one?

  • Nope, our school traveled 13 hrs to perform- we do not live in Florida:(

  • yeah I was part of the Winter Park High School chorus! We were from Winter Park (or I guess Orlando) Florida. same thing. Gosh I miss candlelight. I can't wait till next year. Tis such a good experience. I LOVED Kirk Cameron. He was such a sweetheart!

  • I loved performing in this on Dec. 16th. My sister and I were from the choir in Virginia. She sings soprano 1, I sing soprano 2. The notes on this song for both sopranos 1 &2 were deadly- I lost my voice after singing this song in the second performance b/c we had to go to an A and hold it for a long time. What school are you from?

  • Dr. sinclair def. did not conduct this... Its to slow. I sang Nov. 23 Dec. 13, 19, 16.

    Go Alto 1. haha.

  • Kirk Cameron came to our rehearsal tent for the 6:15 show rehearsal, he was very motivating in his speech about converting and finding something to believ in.

  • i performed on the 28th. =]

  • you cant see the conductor in this video but i can tell you it is NOT dr sinclair bc this is deadly slow and he takes this horrible song much faster to get it over with....thank god!

  • Yea he came to the tent on the 16th for our groups. ususally celeb narrators only go to the 5:00 rehearsal. but that was cool of him. and yeah. that is definitely a performance i was in. trippy!

  • I got to meet kirk Cameron. He came to our rehersal tent

  • my sis got to talk w/ him after the preformance-shes a fan but i am not 0.o to be honest never heard of thge guy

  • I just returned from performing the first show tonight. We had the gentleman that replaced Cuba Gooding Jr (the father in Selena?). Anyway, it was my best; I got to wear the white glove! =D

Can't wait for next year. Our school was an honor choir this year (what.). We'll be back next year for sure.

Best show at Walt Disney World!

  • Hey I performed in this one too!!! I LOVED the conducter! His facial expressions were priceless. I was an alto. :)

I got to meet Kirk the day before on the 25th. I was like a foot from him. :P I didn't have any luck on the 16. He did come in to visit us though while we were rehearsing. (sp)

  • Let me correct myself. I met kirk on the 15.

  • what school were you from?

    <-- winter park.

  • I was from Winter Park! :) hahahahaha Maybe I know you....What choir are you in? hehe

  • senior in cantabile. i'm an alto II so my assumption would be I was around you. I went all 4 days.

  • haha me 2:) i was on the right side of the stage:) maybe ya saw me i had long brown curly hair:)

  • the VA one:)

  • oh cool! i really enjoyed it, i go every year. did any of you get to meet kirk cameron afterwards?

  • Yeah! My sister met Kirk Cameron after the second performance, she said he was really nice and very complimentary towards all the performers.

  • I love this performance- I'm in it! I really enjoyed the conductor as well as the people and music. I am a soprano and hope to attend again next year!

  • i was in this one! the conductor was so funny;)

  • yes.. that man was hilarious. i was giggling through half of the song. particularly this because when the bases would start up he made a ridiculous face

  • haha, yeah! What part did u sing? I was saprano
