Shankaracharya and Swami Vivekananda were both Brahmins btw and they rejected Caste System because it became a tool in the hands of those who wanted power. Business class, intellectual class, political class, worker class etc. In ancient time caste was determined not by birth but by deeds. It changed in time and started determined by birth instead. Now it is changing again and is going back to what originally it was that is by action and not birth. Though it will take some time for full reversal.
