Senna won 2 races for Lotus in the 1987 season.the turbo cars were banned for 1989.
Senna went to Mclaren in 1988 and beat Prost to the,won the title again in 1990 and 1991.
In1994 Senna died during the 3rd race(the fw16 was a pig of a car) scoring no points.
In1993 Senna won 5 races.Hakkinen didn't win a race until1997(how did he destroy Senna at Portugal?).In 1993 Senna "destroyed" the entire field in european gp
Schumacher dedicated his 1994 drivers championship to Senna
Piquet races like a ragged hothead, getting frustrated he oversteers and Schumacher closes in, he completely loses it. Mansell apparently was a nasty racer. Brake testing Schumacher at the apex of corners so that Schumacher needs to slow down, then speeds up. Senna is dogged in protecting his space and retaing positions instantly.
Unbelievable this video. It actually shows you the racing style of Mansell Senna, Piquet and Schumacher. Schumacher uses oversteering setup on corner exit. He has the B191 setup beautifully.
Very few drivers chose going to an inferior team to win.
Schumacher did, went to Ferrari, and Ferrari returned to victories and their first tittle for more than 20 years. Schumacher rise with a team
Ayrton Senna made a team worse and worse. remember Lotus from victories to nowhere at the end of 1987. Mclaren from the best with Prost to nowhere with Senna. Williams from the best to score 0 points with Senna in 1994...
Another incredible doing of Schumacher is improve and improve a team
I don't like Schumacher at all, not even a little, but that was some damn fine driving from him on cold tires. He really got the drop on Mansell in that first lap.
@hunt2727 Imagine Schumacher with the McLaren in 1993? Benetton had a better chassis and a better engine. What are you talking about? Schumacher would've never destroy none of them. Schumacher got his results after a rare combination of some talent, luck, lack of good opponents and a lot of internal and external help.
Now that things are differente and he has not all those things, he loses to a mediocre driver like Nico.
@LouieGee SPA92????? SPA 91 Qualify??? 7th behind MClaren Williams Ferrari(Senna-Prost-Mansell ecc ecc) with a Jordan-hart....combination of some talent..LUCK(!!!!), lack of good oppenents....??!!
Even Rubens Barrichello qualified on POLE POSITION with the SAME Jordan-Hart at the SAME Belgium GP. His victory in 1992 was a gift from Ross Brawn and his strategy skills. Schumacher was a hell of a driver, a very good one, but he would never achieve what he has achieved if it wasn't for Brawn-Byrne-Todt team and a lack of good drivers. When he faced some good competitors (Alonso, Hakkinen), things weren't easy for him.
@LouieGee What? Rubens Barrichello qualified on pole in 1994. Some 3 years later, I don't think that can be related to 1991 and Schumacher. Actually that 7th place was Jordan's best qualifying of the year, it took them until 1994 to better it. And Hakkinen and Alonso both had better cars when they beat Ferrari. The McLaren in 98 and 99 (and even into 2000) was a better car than Schumacher's Ferrari, and the mass damper in Alonso's Renault from 2005 to mid '06 made it the class of the field.
@MasterofSpiders In 1991 Jordan finished 5th in the championship. In 1994 they finished in the same 5th place. There wasn't a huge difference. Alonso had a far better car in 2005, but in 2006 they had pretty much equal cars (first half of the season for Renault, second to Ferrari). The mass dampers were also banned in the middle of the 2006 season.
As for Hakkinen, they had pretty much equal equipment in 2000 and 98. In 99, even IRVINE could fight for the title... Ferrari was better in 99.
@LouieGee jajaja i would like to see Hakkinen and Alonso fight for championships without those super-cars they drove the years they were champions (who was Hakkinen before '98-'99 seasons??, the "super-driver" Alonso of '05-'06 is not nearly close today...), Schumacher on the other hand generally fought for the championships until the last race with less competitive cars ('97-'98-'06), without mentioning the fact that he would be world champion in 1999 if it wasn't for his leg injury.
First they should stop using those anti-shake-function cameras! They make even the toughest, most bumpy ride seems smooth, and I believe they are part of the reason so many people (wrongly) claim that today cars are soooo easy to drive!
Well, the crap cameras make it look so easy, that it sometimes seems relaxing! Very deceptive, as the driver at the same time he seems to relax, pulls 5 gs, his head shakes and tumbles around, and his kidney are shaken down to his knees!
...And then theres the position as you say! The best would be both a high like they have today, as it is good for replays of incidents and overtakes due to the good overview!
But real time onboard shots should be shot with a camera angle like this!
The japanese television already had this onboard views. Its very exciting to see it.
The conditions at spain 92 were bad. The track was wet but many drivers (Schumacher) started on slicks. For ex. Alesi had choose wet tyre as u can see at the start of this very nice vid.
Thank You for this rare video. I like very much the Japanese style and fashion to explain the F1. Senna said about Schumacher: " I don't think that this track is very favourable for my Mclaren, but throughout the year we have shown that we can be competitive on any track. Schumacher is driving very fast and if he manages to drive calmly then he will be a very hard rival. I think that he has a great potential." No doubt the greatest Champion see the potential for Shummy a great one too.
@dangertomarketing It is 1991,the race was in the fall the first year

This is not 1991... Schumacher debuted five races later, in Spa Francorchamps for Jordan. this can only be Spanish Grand Prix in 1992.

Oh god the ignorant idiots in these comments.
a) the 91 Jordan was a Jordan-Cosworth ( Ford )
b) Schumacher himself made the call for tyres in 92 to help him win the race

still @Hunt2727
Mclaren and Williams BOTH won championships AFTER Senna died so how did Senna make the teams worse(Lotus last race win was by Senna)
F1 is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring nowadays,I am proud to say I watched it when it was entertaining.
I like Schumacher as well as Senna but I have always been a Gilles Villeneuve fan(only won 6 races and was runner-up in 1979 drivers championship).
Jean Alesi in 1989 to 1992 season showed a little of the way I liked F1 cars to be driven.

Schumacher, just a kid playing with the bigger boys...
In just 2 years Schumacher was better than Senna, Mansell and Prost.
Imagine Schumacher with the Mclaren in 1993... He would have destroyed Senna as Hakkinen did in portugal 93 with Senna.
Imagine Schumacher in Williams in 1993.
He would have been champion in Spa.
Schumacher, the greatest driver in history!
